Chapter 143: Typhoon Day
The sky was overcast and it started to drizzle.
The wind was a bit strong, blowing the plastic bags towards the sky in pursuit of freedom.
Saki Kondo chased out of the academy in the rain, but did not see Shirai.
So I hurriedly took a taxi and planned to go directly to her house and wait.
But Kondo never expected that under such circumstances, Shirai would still continue to work part-time.
She didn't ask for leave yesterday.
Don't cause trouble for your boss.
"Shirai, if there is anything, please go and deal with it first. I can handle it by myself." The manager looked at Shirai's gray face worriedly.
"It's okay, Manager. I can continue." Shirai smiled numbly.
The store manager nodded slowly upon hearing this, and did not continue to persuade her, but just asked her to deal with some easier matters.
By the time he got off work, it was raining heavily. Shirai held an umbrella and walked weakly towards the tram station.
The phone rings.
"Hello."
"Hello, is this Kyoko Shirai? I'm from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department."
Lightning flashed across the window, followed by a thunderous roar, which made Hirosue Ryomiya, who was having dinner with his mother, feel a little nervous.
"A strong typhoon is going to land tomorrow, so we probably won't have to go to school." Hirosue's mother looked out the window at the strong wind and heavy rain. "It's already so strong and rainy before it even lands. It's really violent."
"Maybe. I haven't received any notification yet."
Guangsue said lightly, then picked up the ringing phone.
"what's up?"
"Miss, there was an accident. Mr. Shirai committed suicide."
Guang Sue Liang Gong was startled, then took a deep breath: "Have you confirmed it?"
"Confirmed, Shirai Anko has been notified and has gone to claim the body." The voice on the other end revealed panic, and she couldn't help but explain, "He is indeed a coward. We have verified it, so we don't think he will commit suicide. We only arranged one person to follow him, but..."
"Give me the address." Guangsue ignored the long list of reasons he gave and said directly.
"Yes!"
After hanging up the phone, Hirosue stared at the food on the table in a daze.
"What's wrong? Is there anything?" Hirosue's mother asked with concern.
Guangsue shook his head, forced a smile, and stood up: "I'm going to the bathroom."
She walked into the bathroom with slightly messy steps, leaned against the door, and stood quietly for a while.
She slowly walked to the mirror, pressed her heart with her right hand, felt the difficulty breathing like asthma, looked at herself in the mirror, stretched out her left hand, and gently stroked the corners of her eyes in the mirror.
"Isn't it enough?"
After savoring the strong emotion, she suppressed it, and her complexion gradually returned to normal, neither cold nor hot.
"Then come more strongly."
funeral parlor.
"According to nearby surveillance cameras, your father drank alcohol and committed suicide by jumping into the river at around 5am this morning."
Looking at her father's body, she felt cold all over as it was wet from the rain.
The rain water accumulated on my body dripped onto the ground, and I couldn't tell which were tears and which were water drops.
"Mr. Officer, can you please leave me alone for a moment?"
"Well, please accept my condolences. I'm just outside."
The police walked out and closed the door, leaving only her and her father's bodies in the room.
She gently held her father's cold hand. Reality finally broke her down. Her tears burst out like a broken dam. Her frail body hunched over. She took a few steps back and slammed against the wall. She bit her arm, which could not stop shaking, and cried silently. Water from her tears and hair dripped down, and it started to rain in the morgue.
Amidst low whimpers, there was some movement outside the door, and then after a while, the door was opened and closed again.
The footsteps approached Shirai and stopped in front of her.
In Shirai Anko's tearful eyes, a pair of familiar shoes appeared in her sight. The person who came in slowly squatted down, it was Hirosue Yoshimiya with an indescribable expression.
Shirai seemed to have found the only life-saving straw. He let out a wow, sobbed, stretched out his arms, and hugged Hirosue uncontrollably.
"What did I do wrong?!"
"I, I've tried so hard to survive in this world!"
"My mom doesn't want me, my dad doesn't want me, no one wants me, no one wants me anymore!"
Listening to Shirai's hoarse words, Hirosue said nothing, but just waited quietly, waiting for Shirai's emotions to calm down a little.
Then she leaned close to Shirai's ear and whispered like a devil.
"Do you know why the money is marked?"
Shirai's sobs were interrupted. At this moment, Kondo Saki's words that she had said many times emerged in her memory. She slowly let go of Hirosue, and with pleading and disbelief, she gently shook her head and looked at the suddenly unfamiliar friend in front of her.
"Eat it and I will tell you the truth." Guang Mo Liang Gong took out a Holy Son Pill and looked at her calmly.
Bai Jing picked up the Holy Son Pill with tears in her eyes, closed her eyes, and swallowed it in one gulp.
"How do you feel?" Hirosue asked.
Shirai shook her head, wiped her tears, trembling as she opened her schoolbag, took out the intact cranberry cookies inside, and said with the last bit of desire: "Hiromote, are we friends?"
Guangsue's eyes gradually revealed disappointment.
"Even you can't do it."
She put away her disappointment. It was normal for an experiment to fail, and there was no need to be depressed.
He casually took Shirai's biscuit, opened it, and poured it out.
The biscuits fell on the wet floor and mixed with the rain and tears, quickly softening.
"I arranged for your father to pay his debts, and I also arranged the contract you signed. You can think that I killed your father."
Guang Mo said coldly.
Shirai's eyes were red, and he moved his gaze from the broken biscuits on the ground to Hirosue with difficulty, and asked in a hoarse voice: "Why?"
"It's just an experiment, no reason. Now, the experiment is over, so let it be, and..." Hirosue took a last look at Shirai and the body, left without saying a word, stepped on the cookie crumbs, and walked out of the room.
Only Shirai Anko was left, seemingly abandoned by the world, slumped on the ground covered with water and debris.
After coming out of the bathroom, Guangsue got in the car and asked the driver to drive directly home.
"Liang Gong, look who's here." As soon as he returned home, Guang Mo was pulled into the living room by his mother.
Guangmo took a look and found that he was indeed a rare visitor.
"Alas, Shaxi hasn't been here since she started middle school. She said that the school has decided to have a holiday tomorrow, so you two should have a good chat tonight. Shaxi, sleep here tonight, just like when we were kids. I just have to go out and play mahjong with my sisters."
Hirosue's mother talked for a long time, leaving them no room to talk, and after she finished speaking, she packed up her things and went out.
After the sound of a door closing, the two childhood friends looked at each other in silence in the living room.
"What did you do to Shirai?" Kondo broke the silence, her hair looked a little wet.
"How come I don't know when you became friends with her?" Hirosue smiled as usual.
"Stop that disgusting smile." Kondo said coldly.
Hirosue's smile slowly faded: "Her father committed suicide, and she is in the funeral home."
"You did it?" Kondo walked up to Hirosue, their eyes met, and he seemed to be spitting fire.
"You can think so." Hirosue did not deny it.
Snapped!
The crisp sound echoed in the living room.
Saki Kondo's palms were red and numb, but there was no red mark on Hirosue Yoshimiya's face.
"You are still so impulsive and immature. For the sake of our past friendship, I can pretend that what happened today did not happen. But please remember, Saki, you represent the Kondo family. Don't let your impulsiveness drag your family into the abyss."
Kondo Saki pretended not to hear anything and left with clenched fists.
