Chapter 107 02.0106: "Unregretful Sacrifice, He Can See It" (Please Order First!)
Tall, magnificent and elegant, it depicts the grand holy gate where Sister Saint Arabella led her sisters to exterminate the apostate Gog Vandiel.
The warriors in blue, silver, and red armor launched a heroic counterattack against the evil demons that were rushing up the stairs. They actually knocked the first batch of bloodletters that rushed up away. They were pierced through the chest by the dense black swords like a forest below, and turned into blazing red flames.
Even though the vampire had no blood, the Immaculate Angel's Whip in its hand was still full of power. It seemed to have heard Horatio's words and remembered the hatred of the Battle of Signus. It hated these minions of Khorne and despised these mindless bloodthirsty creatures.
The hum of the chainswords and the chorus of hymns sung by the Sisters of Battle form a swan song of loyalty.
The holy light of faith condenses above the heads of every Emperor warrior fighting, while opposite them is a scarlet raging wave.
The warriors' fighting spirit infected many believers. Some fanatical believers gave up going to the shelter, chanting the heroic name of Saint Guinius, and launched a one-way charge towards the vampires with their long staffs or short knives, fighting for a chance of survival for the people behind them.
These believers knew that they would surely die if they rushed out, but they wanted to die gloriously in front of Saint Guilles, the 'Imperial Martial Saint', rather than waiting in agony to be slaughtered by demons.
More and more civilians volunteered to rush out of the door, join the battle, and block the advance of the vampires.
Sister Arabella also rushed out to rescue the seriously injured. She was sweating profusely, her holy silver power armor was covered with blood, her pure white headscarf was stained red, and the short chain saw on her arm was stained with terrible blood and flesh.
Even so, she was still like an angel, snatching life from the hands of death. Some people were moved by her tiredness and came forward to help.
This battle is no longer just a battle between the Emperor's angels, daughters and warriors and demons, but what He desires, for humanity to unite and fight against death and despair.
Under the preaching of the power of faith, the might of the Emperor and the noble virtues of Sanguinius temporarily suppressed the fear in the hearts of mortals.
Everyone knows what they are doing and why.
Because of this, the bloody fight on the steps became extremely cruel and bloody. The rain-like sweat mixed with ashes, dust and blood made Horatio's face dirty and messy, like a refugee who had just crawled out of his nest.
He had never experienced such a bloody massacre.
Time had slowed down in his senses and he could no longer remember how long he had been fighting.
The vampires rushed forward and slashed with swords, and the legs of a combat nun were chopped off.
"Ah! You filthies who only know how to win by quantity! I laugh at your cowardice!" The battle sister fell to the ground and cursed.
"Sister!" A combat nun tried to pull up her sister whose legs were chopped off by the Hellblade, but was besieged by vampires. When she and her sister were about to die together, a bright red Holy Blood Chainsword blocked the terrible blade for them.
Soon, they discovered that the one wielding the Holy Blood Chainsword was not a Blood Angel, but a mortal.
"It's unbelievable... He is holding the angels' sword." The nun he rescued noticed this and murmured in disbelief.
"By Sanguinius..."
Horatio's iron hand spewed out boiling steam, and with full power, he used his brute force to push away a piece of the bloodletter's sword.
Sister St. Arabella took the opportunity to drag away the disabled sister who had lost her legs.
"No! Sister Arabella, my duty is to live and die with the Holy Gate. Give the medical resources to others." The nun who lost both legs struggled, pulled Sister Arabella's hand away from her armor, and stood up leaning against the silver church door engraved with reliefs. The pool of blood soaked the floor tiles beneath her red.
She took off her helmet, pulled out a bolt pistol from her waist, and shot at the group of vampires, a cold smile rising on her pale lips.
“It’s a pleasure to fight alongside you.”
"May your soul return to the Golden Throne."
Sister Arabella bravely wiped away the hot tears in her eyes, used the first aid hemostatic gel to stop the bleeding for her, then pursed her lips and ran to other seriously injured people.
"Pfft!"
The high-ranking nun who stood in the front to block the demons was stabbed by several hell blades. The flaming blades pierced through her thighs, waist, abdomen, arms, and cut off one of her hands.
Before the demon chopped off her head, she took a breath, raised the corner of her mouth, and detonated the grenade on her body.
"The Emperor redeemed my soul, but you will never be saved," she sneered.
Then, in a noble martyrdom, the loyal and heroic senior sister leaped down the stairs with her arms outstretched, causing a golden light to burst out among the demons.
The light, more powerful than the explosion, killed and exiled a large number of demons, relieving some of the pressure on the defenders on the stairs.
The Blood Angels fought hard to stop the demons' advance, and every one of them was injured, their solid ceramsite armor was torn by the bright red blades, and their flesh was burned by the unclean red flames.
But they said nothing and stood firm in guarding the evacuation of the mortals behind them.
They could see that these hideous demons wanted their blood and heads very much, but they would not give these scum a chance. Taking advantage of the height difference, any bloodletter who dared to come forward would be chopped down by them.
The sacrifices of the Holy Rose Battle Sisters were rewarded. The evacuation was finally coming to an end, and the long line on the stairs finally came to an end.
Of the 20 combat sisters of the Holy Gate Guard, only the last five are left standing, some injured or disabled. The other sisters have fallen at their feet, and the red eyes on their helmets have lost their light and vitality.
Even though the blood was flowing, they still guarded the silver gate devoutly and firmly, protecting the bodies of their sacrificed sisters from being beheaded and desecrated, and they still fought bravely.
But the number of demons was too large, and gradually even the Blood Angels could not stop the demons from advancing.
Not only the bloodletting vampires, but also a kind of hellhound with gill fins rushed out, greedily preying on the flesh and blood. "We must retreat!" The situation in front of them was no longer enough to support the guards of the gate. In the raging waves of demons, Horatio vaguely saw a laughing face through the gap.
The evil face of a horned demon. Horatio knew this demon. It was the bloodthirster Kabanha, the warlord of Khorne.
But after the opening and closing of the rift was restricted by the mysterious force, it was not enough for such a huge demon to pour out from it, and the only enemies in front of it were a steady stream of blood-letting vampires.
"Close the door! We are here to cover your rear! Brothers who fought side by side, let us protect the people in the church with our wishes. Please do not let the burial place of our saints be defiled and profaned by the devil!" A nun guarding the gate shouted loudly while fighting, and the other four sisters continued to sing hymns in haggard voices.
However, the song they sang was an elegy praising loyalty and sacrifice.
Horatio was gasping for breath. He wanted to protect the nuns and go in together, but they were injured and had been stuck by the vampire, and they couldn't get away at all.
"Gardior, you still have unfinished business! Please, fulfill our last wishes."
In the end, Horatio was forced in by a battle sister. He wanted to pull her in, but the battle sister resolutely pressed the switch, slowly closed the silver door, and turned firmly to walk towards her battle sister.
Through the gap before it closed, Horatio saw the last gatekeeper sister fall down.
The bloodletters roared and tried to reap the spoils.
The nun with a broken leg who was leaning outside the door laughed coldly, mocking the devil's ignorant carnival.
"Say goodbye to your skull, demon."
The nun picked up a promethium flamethrower beside her and pulled the trigger. The flames burned at the top of the entire church staircase, igniting the bodies of the fallen combat nuns, including herself.
She greeted her fate calmly, singing beautiful hymns with her beautiful voice.
When the people inside the door heard the melodious song, many of them burst into tears.
The flames ignited her black robes, and her shining silver armor reflected the golden firelight.
"Are you here to lead us to the Golden Throne?" She saw a golden illusion walking out of the flames, and she murmured softly to herself in a voice weakened by severe blood loss.
In the raging fire, the nun with a broken leg raised the corners of her pale lips and leaned calmly against the silver door with a gentle smile.
The demons roared and tried to rush into the fire to rescue the spoils, but as soon as they touched the golden flames, they would be burned and exiled, unable to be reborn in the warp.
The bloodletter was frightened and dared not go up again. He could only wait for the golden fire to dissipate.
What made them even more furious was that the skulls they had been longing for turned into golden light and disappeared along with the bodies of the battle sisters.
They could only watch helplessly as the loot that was within their grasp turned into a pile of pure white power armor gleaming with silver.
They screamed and roared, but all they could do was avoid the golden fire and curse loudly with evil words in helpless rage. There was nothing else they could do.
Noble sacrifice, it is because of this that human civilization can survive.
But the battle of the living is not over yet. Horatio looked at the tall and magnificent silver door in front of him with a gloomy face, and the creaking sound of gnashing teeth could be clearly heard.
He turned around and saw that the soldiers on the defense line were in low spirits. A sad atmosphere filled the air above them and their morale almost reached freezing point.
Horatio's lips moved slightly.
"Behind us is His holy statue! (The holy statue of the Cathedral of the Virgin is three-sided), His people! The devil will not desecrate this holy land today! Put on the bayonet! Activate the chainsaw sword!"
With a loud and exciting voice, he shouted into the church:
"Loyal warriors of the Emperor! For the Emperor! For Sanguinius! For Saint Arabella! For the warriors who died today! Prepare to fight! We will never retreat! No step back! (No step back!)"
He shouted out the slogans that the Soviet Red Army used when defending Moscow. He wanted to use this determination to boost his own and everyone else's fighting spirit, encouraging them to continue fighting instead of letting sadness wear them down.
"Never retreat! Fight to the death! We are the Cadian Blitzkrieg! We will stand our ground until death!"
"Defend the Emperor! The Imperial Navy will never surrender! The Gothic Fleet will never admit defeat!!!"
"Glory to the Emperor! Victory to Sanguinius!!"
"Saint Arabella is watching us, sisters. Carry on the faith of our deceased sisters and drive out the evil spirits!!"
The soldiers raised their weapons high and roared in unison.
Behind them, golden statues shone brilliantly.
Under the inspiration of Horatio and the power of faith accumulated by tens of thousands of people, the grief and anger turned into even stronger fighting spirit and faith.
The soldiers' originally exhausted bodies instantly regained their energy, and the negative emotions in their hearts turned into renewed fighting spirit, and they were fully motivated for the upcoming bloody fight to the death.
