Chapter 249: The Road to Immortality

Chapter 249: The Road to Immortality

In the chaotic little world, all the laws of heaven and earth are like a beauty behind a gauze curtain, vaguely visible and within reach.

As long as one's aptitude is acceptable, practicing in this world, one can cultivate step by step to the level of the second-level immortal.

For a cultivator, enlightenment is as simple as swimming in the ocean. The worry is no longer whether the ocean will be short of water, but whether one will be drowned by the sea water.

After finding the Immortal Cave, Li Zhi did not immediately try to find a way to open the cave. Instead, he sat in front of the stone wall where the words of Emperor Yuhua were engraved and began to gain enlightenment.

All the laws of heaven and earth flowed into Li Zhi's heart like rivers flowing into the sea.

After going through life-and-death trials, the great way that Li Zhizhan discovered, which possessed the true meaning of immortality, began to take root in the laws of heaven and earth, absorbing the essence of all laws.

Li Zhi's avenue began to grow rapidly.

The Great Dao Pillar of Heaven also changed from a piece of tough iron wood to a solid iron rod made of divine gold.

His cultivation level was also slowly beginning to grow.

From the early stage of the third level of the King, it has grown to the late stage of the third level of the King.

As your cultivation becomes higher and higher, the accumulation becomes more and more with each advancement of a small realm.

Nowadays, the difficulty of advancing to a small realm is almost equivalent to the difficulty of advancing to a large realm in the early stages of cultivation.

This is also the reason why the higher the level of cultivation, the longer it takes to practice.

Even if one has the most top-level talent for cultivation, one will never encounter a bottleneck in cultivation in one's lifetime, but the accumulation of Taoism does take time.

The accumulation of Taoism is never achieved overnight, even for the emperor.

Sitting under that fairy cliff, Li Zhi's emotions seemed to resonate with those of the Emperor Yuhua who studied the Holy Spirit Law here in the past.

All the essences between heaven and earth swarmed in and condensed into an ocean of myriad laws around Li Zhi.

The little Qilin lay beside Li Zhi, also falling into the deepest sleep.

This is a rare opportunity for enlightenment, and given its intelligence, it will definitely not miss it.

Half a month later, Li Zhi felt that the concentration of the essence of heaven and earth in this world had thinned by 30%, and then he woke up from his enlightenment.

Looking at the impact caused by his practice, Li Zhi was filled with helplessness.

No wonder the most powerful ancient species in this world can only cultivate to the great power realm. Although all the laws of heaven and earth are active, they are like a beauty taking off her gauze clothes.

But the total amount of essence of heaven and earth is not enough.

Compared with the vast and boundless world outside, the original essence of this chaotic small world seemed to have been consumed by Emperor Yuhua when he was studying the Holy Spirit Transformation Method.

The cultivation of a king is indeed different from that of an immortal.

The amount of nourishment required from the essence of heaven and earth is simply too overwhelming.

No wonder after reaching the saint level, one’s practice mainly relies on the energy from the surrounding stars.

It is not without reason that a vast star field can only support one or two great sage-level warriors.

Because Li Zhi's foundation in Taoism was so solid, the great Dao he slashed out was so powerful that it was terrifying. The amount of heaven and earth essence he needed to absorb and exhale during his practice was ten times that of an ordinary king.

Being able to attract immortal-level heavenly calamity attacks when performing a sword-killing move is not something that everyone can achieve.

You know, when ordinary emperors are going through the great emperor tribulation, they will not encounter attacks from immortals transformed from the heavenly tribulation.

Only the strongest emperor, when going through the emperor tribulation, can attract the highest level of heavenly tribulation, that is, the attack of the immortal thunder tribulation transformed from the elixir of immortality.

When Li Zhi was killing Dao, he encountered the kind of thunder tribulation that only the strong people at the level of Emperor of Heaven would encounter.

Although it cannot be compared with the strongest calamity that the Emperor of Heaven has gone through among all the ways.

However, the fact that he encountered a young immortal king-like immortal spirit blocking his way when he was about to cut through the Dao was enough to show how powerful the Dao Li Zhi was cutting through was.

After being promoted to the king realm, Li Zhi could feel that his lifespan was much longer than that of an ordinary king.

Even if his cultivation stagnated and no longer improved, he could at least live for another six thousand years, which would be comparable to that of an ordinary saint.

This kind of longevity is not maintained by external forces such as top-grade divine essence or elixir of immortality, but is purely the result of the Tao.

Li Zhi had a hunch that when he cultivated to the peak of his life, even if he did not become an emperor, his life span in this life would be longer than he could imagine.

If he becomes an emperor in this life, I'm afraid he will not let the Divine Emperor take all the glory.

According to legend, the Divine Emperor's reign was so long that other supreme beings felt despair and could not even dream of matching him.

The Immortal Emperor is merely known as the only god among all the ancient tribes, but the ancient emperor of Shencan Ridge is called "Divine Emperor".

The Divine Emperor is the emperor among gods.

As proud as the Immortal Emperor was, he did not cause trouble for the Divine Emperor when faced with the title of Divine Emperor.

Moreover, no ancient emperor has ever questioned the title of the Divine Emperor. Even the Supreme of the Forbidden Zone is unwilling to mention the Divine Emperor.

Rumor has it that the Divine Emperor's reign was at least twice as long as that of an ordinary ancient emperor.

No supreme being could clearly tell how many years the Divine Emperor had lived and how many lives he had lived.

Even the life and death of the Divine Emperor is shrouded in mystery.

But Li Zhi knew that the Divine Emperor was actually undergoing a "transformation from death" and was finding a mysterious path to immortality.

He was born and died, and then was reborn again, but the seal of reincarnation did not condense in his body. He embarked on a path of immortality that outsiders could not imagine.

One day in the future, when the Divine Emperor ends his years of "death" and comes back to life, he will directly ascend to the realm of immortality.

Li Zhi knew very early on that the path to immortality in the mortal world was not just to live life after life.

One must live on from life to life, at least till the eighth life, before one can begin to achieve the initial fruits of immortality.

However, the transformation from life to life becomes more and more difficult as time goes by, and is definitely not as simple as people imagine.

A normal emperor can live two lives with the help of the elixir of immortality and can reign for about 30,000 years.

As for the emperor who has made profound research on the method of longevity, he may be able to live one more life, and live out his third life. Even the emperor who has extraordinary opportunities, understanding and chance can live out his fourth life.

However, when you want to live out your fifth life, the difficulty will suddenly increase exponentially.

It should be noted that the ruthless emperor, whose talent astonished people throughout history, encountered an accident when he lived for the fifth time and almost died.

It can be seen how difficult this road is.

Without the halo of the protagonist, this path would be impossible to take.

If you live life after life, you can achieve immortality in the mortal world. This is the path to immortality that all emperors and kings know.

However, although they knew about it, there were only a few emperors and kings who could take this path.

Even someone as powerful as the Immortal Emperor did not take the path to immortality, surviving life after life.

Instead, he chose to follow the path of immortality by bathing in the emperor's blood and transforming himself.

The path to immortality taken by the Emperor is not the kind of transformation that Ye Fan has experienced life after life in the mortal world.

Otherwise, the Immortal Emperor would have achieved immortality in the mortal world in the ancient times.

His combat effectiveness would not be surpassed by the later Emperor Wu Shi.

The immortal path that Wu Shi Great Emperor took was definitely not an immortal path of transformation from one life to another. It seemed that he had chosen to become a war immortal in the mortal world, similar to the Fighting Saint Emperor. However, Wu Shi Great Emperor had obviously gone further than the Fighting Saint Emperor, and it was even possible that he had cultivated the Dao Fruit of the War Immortal, thus becoming a war immortal in the mortal world, and finally ascending to immortality, leaving this world and ascending to that strange world on the road to becoming an immortal.

Sitting in front of the fairy cliff left by Emperor Yuhua, Li Zhi's mind emerged with one method after another of achieving immortality in the mortal world and their representative figures.

Qingdi is the first supreme being to become an emperor in the post-ancient times.

He must have known the situation of the ruthless emperor in the ancient forbidden area, but he did not choose to take this path to immortality.

Instead, he chose to evolve the fairyland in the mortal world.

This is enough to explain the problem with the method of achieving immortality through nine lifetimes.

Even the Green Emperor did not choose to take the elixir of immortality to live another life. This shows that the Green Emperor has his own understanding of the method of longevity.

According to Qingdi's lifespan and qualifications, if he chooses to live another life, when the road to becoming an immortal is opened in the future, he will be at the peak state of the emperor.

The Forbidden Zone Supreme won't stand a chance.

However, the Green Emperor still chose to open up a fairyland in the mortal world, which shows that he did not yearn for the path to immortality that the supreme beings in the forbidden area desired.

Every great emperor and ancient king who chooses to embark on the path to immortality in the mortal world has unparalleled self-confidence and will never easily give up the path to immortality they have chosen.

There is no necessary connection between the path to immortality in the mortal world and whether one can become an immortal.

However, if one can find the path to immortality in the mortal world, one will hone a terrifying foundation for the great way, which will lay the most solid foundation for becoming a Taoist ancestor (a quasi-immortal emperor level strongman) in the future.

As Li Zhi's thoughts began to diverge, an inexplicable Taoist charm appeared on him.

A path to immortality that belonged to him alone vaguely appeared in his mind.

It seems that as long as he can follow this path to immortality, becoming the Taoist Patriarch in the future is just around the corner. If he cannot follow this path to immortality, the difficulty of breaking through the king and becoming an emperor will not be easier than those immortal kings in the ancient times who were able to cultivate the light of quasi-immortal emperors.

The path to eternal life in the mortal world is definitely not something that you need to consider only after you become an emperor.

But it is something that needs to be considered when cutting the path.

Otherwise, it would be difficult to change after becoming emperor.

"The method of becoming an immortal for nine lifetimes, that is the path to immortality that Emperor Huang Tian and Emperor Ye Tian want to take, but what is my path to immortality in the mortal world?"

There is a saying in the spiritual world that should be kept in mind, "Those who learn from me will live, those who imitate me will die."

We should summarize the methodology from what our predecessors left behind, rather than studying the specific content of things.

It is a fact that one ancient scripture of a great emperor cannot create two great emperors.

Every great emperor who wants to achieve enlightenment needs to create his own imperial scripture, otherwise achieving enlightenment in an alternative way will be their limit.

It is far more important to summarize the methodology used by great emperors in their cultivation from various ancient scriptures than to blindly practice the various mysterious methods recorded in the ancient scriptures.

Ever since he killed Dao Chengwang, Li Zhi has been aware of this problem.

Take the Tao Te Ching as an example.

Why do the scriptures in the Wheel Sea Volume divide the cultivation of the Wheel Sea Secret Realm into four small realms: the Sea of Bitterness, the Fountain of Life, the Divine Bridge, and the Other Shore?

If you practice step by step without thinking, you will never be able to surpass the Taoist Master of Dao and Morality who left behind the Tao Te Ching.

Don't underestimate the division of these small realms, and don't take the existence of these four small realms in the Wheel Sea Secret Realm for granted.

It contains Tianzun’s understanding of the Tao.

The cultivation method of the Wheel Sea Secret Realm in the "Green Lotus Emperor Sutra" left by the Green Emperor is not divided into these four small realms.

The cultivation method of the Wheel Sea Secret Realm recorded in the "Immortal Immortal Sutra" left by the Immortal Emperor does not mention these four small realms.

However, most of the ancient scriptures of the human race that Li Zhi had read included these four small realms. Although the methods of practice were different, the general framework was still the framework of the Dao Sutra.

In the future, Ye Fan, who created the Wheel Sea Volume of the "Heavenly Emperor Sutra", did not practice the four small realms of the Sea of Bitterness, the Fountain of Life, the Divine Bridge, and the Other Shore.

That's enough to illustrate the problem.

The path to eternal life in the mortal world can be found in the spiritual scriptures that one has created.

Li Zhi, who was touched, kept searching in his heart for the path to eternal life in this mortal world.

Gradually, he seemed to have grasped a little thread.

"If you want to live forever, you must first live a long life. Only when your life span is long enough will you have time to carve out a path to immortality in this world."

"Yes, that's right. If you want to live forever, you must first live a long life, and then you can eventually cultivate an immortal body. This has no necessary connection with whether you can become an immortal or not, and it has no necessary connection with how strong your fighting ability is."

At this moment, Li Zhi seemed to have grasped the thread to achieving immortality in the mortal world.

Just as he was about to pull the thread out of the mist, the little Qilin beast, which had awakened from the state of enlightenment, suddenly spoke.

"Boss Changshou, I'm hungry." The little Qilin pulled Li Zhi's sleeve in a daze.

"Crash!" It was as if a three-meter-high tower built with playing cards was poked at the foundation and collapsed instantly.

Li Zhi's mind was also pulled back to reality from the mysterious path to immortality in the mortal world.

The thread that was originally held in the hand instantly shrank back into the mist of immortality.

"How could this happen?" Li Zhi showed a dull look, and then an extreme murderous intent that seemed to come from the creation of the world burst out from him.

"Long life, old age." Before the little Qilin could finish his words, he was frozen by the extreme cold air that came with the ultimate murderous intent. The time and space within a thousand miles seemed to be frozen at this moment.

"Alas, it turns out that there is no such thing as a smooth journey on the road of cultivation."

After talking for a while, Li Zhi dispersed his murderous intent, but all the living beings within a thousand miles were instantly killed by that murderous intent.

Only the little Qilin had a trace of life left in its body, because it had refined the blood essence of the Qilin Holy Spirit.

Then, Li Zhi merged a stream of holy spirit blood into the body of the little Qilin beast, thus bringing it back to life.

But the resurrected Qilin looked at Li Zhi with eyes full of fear.

"I, I, I am willing to be your mount." The little Qilin said stutteringly after being resurrected.

It seemed as if it was afraid that Li Zhi would show murderous intent again and would kill him directly.

Li Zhi rubbed the head of the Qilin beast, revealed an ugly smile, and said: "Don't be afraid, I never planned to use you as a mount."

But the little Qilin beast didn't dare to chatter in front of Li Zhi like before, and instead said, "I volunteered."

Li Zhi shook his head and said, "I don't need a mount."

The little Qilin beast said in fear: "Are you going to abandon me?"

Li Zhi asked, "Now that we are back home, do you still want to follow me?"

The little Qilin nodded vigorously and said, "I want to follow you forever."

Li Zhi was silent for a moment, then said: "Then you can be a guardian beast beside me. I will give you a new name. From now on, you will be called Renshou."

The Book of Song states: "The Qilin is a benevolent animal. A male is called a Qilin, and a female is called a Lin. The Qilin is a pet of the gods of good fortune, representing peace and longevity."

The little Qilin nodded and accepted the new name bestowed by Li Zhi.

Although Li Zhi had no intention of blaming the little Qilin, it seemed to realize that it had just caused a big disaster, and from then on it followed Li Zhi obediently without saying a word.
