Chapter 207: Meeting an old friend in Huaxian Pond
"It's really rewarding to communicate with such an experienced and advanced senior."
After parting with Gai Jiuyou in front of a certain Immortal Transformation Pond in the Qinling Mountains, Li Zhi left alone.
The two months of traveling together were almost the two months in which he gained the most since he came to Beidou.
Although many of his fantastic ideas were denied by Gai Jiuyou during this period, Li Zhi was not disappointed. Instead, he felt unusually happy.
After all, as a powerful quasi-emperor who once tried to achieve enlightenment, Gai Jiuyou's Taoism and cultivation have almost reached the pinnacle of the human world.
Most of Li Zhi's wild ideas can be distinguished as true or false.
This allowed Li Zhi to avoid many unnecessary wrong attempts.
At least he knew which ways of cultivation were suicidal and which ones were worth trying.
It will not happen again. Previously, due to the lack of necessary guidance from experts, people practiced blindly and ended up with many cumbersome situations.
How can Li Zhi, who does not have a system, achieve enlightenment after coming to this world?
If he really thinks that he can achieve enlightenment by practicing hard, then he is too naive.
Throughout the ages, those who were able to achieve enlightenment and become emperors were all blessed with incredible talent, great luck, and endless fortune.
Given Li Zhi’s current situation, if he practices step by step and wants to become emperor, he’d better just forget about it, because dreams can bring him anything.
If you want to achieve enlightenment or become an immortal, it is impossible to succeed without the help of some incredible plug-in.
Li Zhi has a clear understanding of this.
Even though he likes to talk nonsense in front of seniors, that's just his way of getting along with them.
If his words are not shocking, who among the senior masters will pay attention to him?
What's more, many of the things Li Zhi said were the truth, which made him even more valued by his predecessors.
The old master of Qishi Mansion was like this, and so was Gai Jiuyou who he met in Qinling Mountains.
If Li Zhi just acted like a talented young man and never said anything out of line, would Gai Jiuyou take him seriously?
It was precisely because he discovered that Li Zhi's words were likely to attract warnings from heavenly thunder that Gai Jiuyou was willing to travel with this "audacious" young Taoist priest for two months and was willing to give him some pointers.
Li Zhi was also waiting for such an opportunity, so he unscrupulously said many shocking words and many unorthodox cultivation concepts.
He even discussed with Gai Jiuyou the advantages and disadvantages of dozens of cultivation systems, including but not limited to the cultivation system in the chaotic ancient times, the Golden Elixir Avenue, the God and Demon Martial Arts, etc.
Li Zhi understands what his strengths are and what his weaknesses are?
He is not like Ye Fan, who is destined to become an existence above the sacrificial path in the future. He can ignore the constraints of the long river of time and travel freely in any time and space.
If one wants to achieve enlightenment, one must not only rely on the predictive function of the "Heavenly Book", but most importantly, one must rely on various thoughts brought from past lives, as well as various wild imaginations and creativity that is not affected by various unspoken rules of practice.
Otherwise, no matter how much luck Li Zhi has, he can never achieve enlightenment or become an immortal. With the foundation of Taoism he has built, he is at best comparable to those ancient monsters that have been sealed for eons.
However, it is precisely because his true spirit does not belong to this ancient history or this universe that he has the possibility to transcend.
This is a kind of spiritual intuition that arises naturally as Li Zhi's cultivation level improves.
In a word, "following the routine will lead to a dead end, while daring to think and act will lead to success!"
Of course, there will be many setbacks and mistakes in this process.
Therefore, Li Zhi recorded all the difficulties he might face in the future.
The number and details of the difficulties were so great that even a big shot like Gai Jiuyou was shocked.
He had never thought that a person could refine the difficulties encountered on the path of cultivation to that level.
Take the practice of the second level of immortality as an example. In the process of unlocking the various secrets of the human body, is it better to use the essence of heaven and earth to replenish magic power, or to use the source of gods to replenish magic power, or to rely on one's own inner strength to tap into one's own potential.
For example, when you come across a place where people can gain enlightenment, how can you use the Tao and Dharma left by your predecessors to test your own Tao and Dharma?
These are all relatively normal. There are even some weird questions. If he meets a group of female cultivators that make his heart beat faster, should he kill them, or use various methods to sharpen his heart, or use other methods to deal with it.
There are countless kinds of things here.
The most difficult part is how to resolve the bottleneck in practice.
From something as small as breathing to something as big as attaining enlightenment and becoming an emperor, Li Zhi assumed that he would encounter thousands of difficulties in almost every step.
The reason for this assumption is not that Li Zhi has no confidence in his own practice.
Instead, he unexpectedly discovered that the process of assuming those difficulties was also an excellent way to practice.
At the same time, in the process of assuming that he would encounter difficulties, Li Zhi had a kind of enlightenment. No wonder "Gou Sheng Li Changshou" would formulate so many plans, giving people a feeling of persecution delusion.
The process of assuming that you will encounter difficulties and then thinking about how to solve them is actually an ultimate process of spiritual practice.
Even without the help of the enlightenment tea, Li Zhi can easily enter the state of enlightenment.
And as he enumerated more of the difficulties he would encounter in that realm, the easier it would be for him to enter the state of enlightenment.
It's simply a cheating tool for cultivation.
Put yourself at the lowest point, and then solve the puzzles of each realm like solving a problem, and finally you will suddenly find yourself "invincible".
The feeling is simply intoxicating.
The injuries on Li Zhi's soul disappeared without a trace during his continuous enlightenment process.
But Li Zhi felt that it was not enough. After being injured, he should take good supplements.
Even though his soul has recovered to its original state, without any scars.
After he began to practice with the exhaustive question method, Li Zhi no longer had the thought, "My practice is already pretty good, and should be no weaker than that of the young emperor."
He didn't even have it anymore, he already had the awareness of being a genuine half-step powerful being.
Instead, I feel that I have problems and loopholes everywhere.
There is still a lot that needs to be supplemented.
If Gai Jiuyou knew what Li Zhi was thinking at this moment, he would probably be shocked.
Whether it was the performance of Li Zhi's soul, his physical body, or his level of comprehension of the Great Dao, Gai Jiuyou had a deep understanding of it, and it was clearly beyond his cultivation level when he was young.
When hearing Li Zhi say that he was full of flaws and shortcomings, Gai Jiuyou fell silent.
He even agreed in his heart with Li Zhi's slightly offensive comments.
According to Li Zhi, those who have truly cultivated to the pinnacle of enlightenment may be on par with the great emperor, or even surpass him.
There is no such thing as everyone has achieved enlightenment, so why am I weaker than you.
Is it just because one person has the Heavenly Heart Mark and another does not?
Does the person without the Tianxin Mark deserve to be weak?
Doesn’t this mean that it is the Heavenly Heart Seal that is powerful, not the cultivator himself?
Li Zhi’s words gave Gai Jiuyou a great shock.
It made him realize that he was overestimating his own abilities when he tried to achieve enlightenment by resisting the Qing Emperor's avenue.
Then the two of them separated.
When they parted, Li Zhi could clearly feel that Gai Jiuyou was holding his breath.
Fortunately, after two months of traveling together, Li Zhi has gained a lot.
At least it pointed him in the right direction for a long time to come.
Li Zhi benefited a lot from it.
This is the effect of the guidance of senior experts.
No wonder even a saint could achieve a breakthrough to a small realm after listening to the great emperor’s lecture.
From this point of view, the disciples taught by powerful people above the level of sages are definitely stronger than the disciples taught by ordinary powerful people.
Of course, this does not include the evildoers who defy the heavens.
Li Zhi walked happily in the Qinling Mountains, looking for Duan De's whereabouts.
At the same time, he felt quite sorry for the Eternal Dragon Cave. Even if the Holy Spirit nurtured in the dragon cave was killed by the Green Emperor, he could not use it.
According to Gai Jiuyou, if you don’t have the cultivation level of a great emperor, don’t try to resolve the cause and effect between you and the Holy Spirit, otherwise you will encounter great misfortune.
In this regard, Li Zhi chose to listen to Gai Jiuyou's advice and not explore the ancient dragon cave.
Disasters and misfortunes always follow one another, this is indeed an unshakable truth in the world of cultivation.
The more good fortune you enjoy, the more price you have to pay.
The Holy Spirit is protected by heaven and earth, but is also envied by all living beings.
Throughout the ages, how many holy spirits have died violent deaths, and how many great holy spirits have died at the hands of great emperors or ancient kings.
It can be said that there are very few Holy Spirits who can complete a task from beginning to end.
Now, Li Zhi is only at the first level of immortality, and does not have the ability to resolve all the disasters in the world like a strong man at the level of the emperor.
Being able to listen to advice is sometimes an excellent quality.
Walking on the land of Qinling Mountains, Li Zhi constantly observed the trend of the earth veins, and at the same time compared them with the mysterious methods of the earth veins recorded in the "Book of Earth".
It gave him a deeper understanding of "The Book of the Earth".
Finally, he really found a special place.
It was a seemingly ordinary stone forest with a dry lake near it. Apart from that, there was nothing magical about it.
But under Li Zhi's Dharma eyes, the earth's energy was in disorder, and some magical combination seemed to be taking place, as if it was affected by a mysterious force.
"Could this be the location where the Immortal Transformation Pool will land?"
Then Li Zhi came to the stone forest and looked around, and indeed found the marks left by the ancients.
On a huge rock, Li Zhi found the mark of a monk and a pattern of an old man riding a green bull.
Nearby, there are some words written in "Sanskrit".
After reading the Sanskrit records, Li Zhi curled his lips and said, "They are really two big guys with a thirst for exploration. They actually traveled all over the major life star fields in the universe along the ancient star road. With such thorough preparations, it's no wonder they will successfully reach the fairyland in the future."
I'm afraid that in his previous life, the Lord of Dao and Morality had already calculated the correct time and place for the path to immortality to begin in this life.
After confirming that this was the location of the Huaxian Pool, Li Zhi did not choose to try to enter, but instead found a secluded place nearby and waited for it to appear.
A few days later, Li Zhi did not wait for the Immortal Pond to open, but instead saw Li Heishui and others appear in the stone forest.
Seeing the Ji brothers and sisters walking together with the little bandits and looking at the mark of Sakyamuni with great excitement, Li Zhi knew that the day when the Huaxian Pool would be truly opened was not far away.
He did not show up to greet them.
After all, Ye Fan is not here and other cultivators have not come either, so it is probably not time for the Immortal Pond to be truly opened yet.
A few days later, they came back, but there was one more person, Ye Fan, in the crowd.
Li Zhi knew that the time had come to open the Huaxian Pool.
It’s just a little strange that Duan De seemed to have broken his promise and did not arrive here on time.
The stone forest was very large, and Li Zhi was several miles away from them. In addition, he deliberately hid himself, so he was not discovered by them.
Just as Ye Fan and others arrived in front of the huge stone engraved with images of Sakyamuni and Laozi, Li Zhi walked out from behind a crouching tiger stone.
The stones in this stone forest are of strange shapes, each different from the other. Some look like lying cows, some like green tigers, and some like coiled phoenixes. They are crisscrossed together, making it impossible to see the entire stone forest clearly.
When Li Zhi came to within thirty feet of them, everyone still did not notice his presence. They were discussing Sakyamuni and the Sanskrit introduction intensely.
Seeing that everyone was chatting enthusiastically, Li Zhi wanted to tease them and suddenly said softly, "Everyone is here!"
Although the sound was light, it sounded like a demonic sound coming from the Nine Nether Hell, with gusts of cold wind and giving people goose bumps.
Upon hearing the voice, Ye Fan and others immediately turned to face Li Zhi.
"Who are you?" Ji Haoyue took a step forward and stood in front of everyone. He had a tremendous aura and the majesty of a god king, and said to Li Zhi.
"Are you thirsty? You have come to my house. I don't have anything else to offer you, just some tea. Please don't be disgusted."
At this moment, Li Zhi was shrouded in a layer of mysterious fairy mist, like a ghost, his feet were not touching the ground, and his voice was faint, like a ghost who warmly entertained everyone.
"Is he a human or a ghost?" Jiang Huairen's face turned pale and he asked Ye Fan beside him.
When Ye Fan opened his eyes of God of Heaven, he not only failed to see Li Zhi clearly behind the fairy mist, but instead saw a ghost face in the fairy mist, without any breath of a living person.
"Everyone be careful, this thing is very strange." Ye Fan said to everyone.
"Break!" Ji Haoyue forced a drop of divine blood from his fingertips and shot it towards Li Zhi, as if he wanted to use the divine blood's method of breaking evil to destroy the ghost Li Zhi.
"How rude." Li Zhi said upon seeing this.
But it seemed to contain a mysterious power, emanating from his body, directly imprisoning the drop of divine blood that Ji Haoyue shot out one foot in front of him.
"How is this possible?" Ji Ziyue shouted in surprise when she saw this.
But Li Zhi smiled like a villain and said, "Little girl, what's impossible? Can't I stop your brother's divine blood?"
"How do you know that he is my brother?" Ji Ziyue blinked, as if she had caught a loophole in Li Zhi's words, and asked hurriedly.
"I have looked up to the nine heavens and down to the nine underworlds, and it is not difficult to tell that you are brother and sister. I also know that the big guy behind you is called Pangbo, and the young man next to you is called Ye Fan, and you, a little girl, like him." Li Zhi said.
"Don't talk nonsense. I, I don't like him." Ji Ziyue retorted shyly as if her tail was stepped on.
But her expression undoubtedly betrayed him.
"Who are you?" Ye Fan also spoke at this moment.
Li Zhi said: "Break my Dao domain, and I will tell you."
After saying that, a mysterious force descended upon them, and instantly made everyone seem as if they were trapped in a quagmire. No matter how they struggled, they were unable to open their eyes.
They were struggling more and more intensely, as if they were trying to activate the forbidden devices on their bodies to break free from the Taoist predicament created by Li Zhi.
Li Zhi immediately dispersed the fairy mist on his body and took back the Taoist domain, allowing everyone to regain their freedom.
"Not bad, you have made great progress." Li Zhi said with a smile.
"Master Li, why are you here?" Li Heishui looked at Li Zhi who was walking towards them with a look of shock.
Li Zhi walked forward and greeted everyone, "Everyone, long time no see."
Ye Fan, Pang Bo and Ji Haoyue looked at Li Zhi with complicated expressions and asked almost at the same time: "What level have you reached now?"
"It's just a little joke, don't be so serious. Since Ye Fan has been invited by you, it seems that the Immortal Pond will be opened in these few days." Li Zhi answered the question irrelevantly.
"Master Li, did you know we would come?" Li Heishui asked with some confusion.
Ji Ziyue also said: "Master Li, have you discovered this place a long time ago?"
Li Zhi said truthfully: "I saw you when you first came here."
Ji Ziyue said: "Then why don't you show up and say hello to us?"
Li Zhi pointed at Ye Fan and said, "Ye Fan is not here, which means it is not the right time."
Ye Fan also asked: "Li Zhi, how did you find this place? How did you know I would come here?"
Li Zhi said: "Actually, I'm not waiting for you. I'm waiting for Taoist Duan. He and I agreed to meet at the Immortal Transformation Pond."
"Is this really the Immortal Pond?" Pang Bo also asked.
Li Zhi nodded and said, "This is just the entrance to the Immortal Transformation Pond. The real Immortal Transformation Pond is not here. With our current level of cultivation, we cannot enter the Immortal Transformation Pond before it truly descends upon the human world."
Afterwards, everyone started reminiscing about the past.
