Chapter 141 Daoyi Holy Land
The Central Region of the Eastern Wasteland is truly the essence of the entire Eastern Wasteland.
The sacred land where Daoyi Holy Land is located is no worse than the Tenglong land of Tianxuan Holy Land, but it has an aura that is completely different from the sacred land of Tianxuan Holy Land.
There are numerous mountains and forests, countless old trees and vines, gushing spiritual springs, spiritual streams everywhere, flying cranes, and a group of geese wandering leisurely in the lake.
There are some simple Taoist temples and spiritual fields scattered among the mountains and forests. Some old Taoists work hard in the fields, just like ordinary people, watering and fertilizing the rice or spiritual medicine in the spiritual fields, and weeding and catching insects.
On top of some other sacred mountains, there are many magnificent palaces made of green bricks and blue tiles, and monks in Taoist robes shuttle back and forth in those palaces.
The young Taoist nun Yuchen explained to Li Zhi that the Daoyi Holy Land was divided into two branches. One branch consisted of the Taoists living in those magnificent palaces, who claimed to strive to cross the mortal world in order to attain the supreme Taoist fruit.
The other branch, on the other hand, is devoted to mountains and forests, indulging in nature, choosing to live with mountains, rivers, lakes and seas as their companions, and making friends with plants, flowers and birds, staying away from the mundane world. Their food, clothing, shelter and transportation are all made by themselves, without relying on material things. They abandon cause and effect and focus on cultivating the way of immortality.
Although the monks in Daoyi Holy Land were divided into two factions, they lived in harmony without any power struggle.
Under the guidance of Taoist Master Li and Taoist Nun Yuchen, Li Zhi did not stay in any of the magnificent Taoist temples, but flew directly over them and came to the depths of the Daoyi Holy Land.
Looking at the general layout of Daoyi Holy Land, Li Zhi asked curiously: "Why doesn't your Daoyi Holy Land have a floating island? Nor a floating ancient city?"
The Taoist nun Yuchen said, "There are only a limited number of ancient floating cities that never fall. Most of them are ancient cities that have been handed down from the ancient times, not cities built by modern cultivators. Although our Daoyi Holy Land is an Eastern Wasteland Holy Land, it has only been less than 100,000 years since it was truly developed into a holy land.
In the past, there were only some powerful Taoists living in seclusion in this sacred land. Later, when the dark turmoil broke out, the founder began to recruit disciples, and the sect began to take shape. After going through the baptism of the bloodiest and most chaotic post-ancient times, the holy land has reached its current scale.
As for the floating island, the founder felt that letting the mountains float in the air was against the natural laws of heaven and earth, so he did not build it. The founder said that only by understanding the most real natural laws of heaven and earth, can one go against the acquired nature, catch the escaping one, and thus attain the Tao. "
Tao gives birth to One, One gives birth to Two, Two gives birth to Three, and Three gives birth to all things. The Taoyi Holy Land attempts to obtain One from all things, to reverse the acquired into the innate, and ultimately find the trace of "Tao".
As expected, every holy place has its own unique features. No wonder the holy place is named "Daoyi".
After passing through a prosperous sacred land, Li Zhi discovered that the little Taoist nun Yuchen had brought him to a pristine mountain forest.
The mountains and forests are ancient and natural, as if they have never been set foot on by humans, but they give people a feeling that the road is right in front of them.
As you get closer, you can vaguely see three simple Taoist temples covering an area of only three acres, distributed in the shape of a Chinese character "品" at the dragon ball positions of three adjacent top-grade dragon veins.
This arrangement is very interesting, as if it is deducing something based on the general trend of heaven and earth.
There are only a few Taoists living in those three Taoist temples. If you don’t observe carefully, you can’t even detect their presence.
It seems that everyone living in those Taoist temples is powerful.
This discovery surprised Li Zhi.
The foundation of the holy land is indeed extraordinary, and the number of powerful people far exceeds the imagination of outsiders.
When they arrived at the Taoist temple in the middle, Taoist Li seemed to have completed his mission, and said to Taoist Nun Yuchen: "Yuchen, the rest of the way, you will lead Taoist friend Changshou to continue forward."
"Goodbye, Master." The young Taoist nun Yuchen bowed slightly to Taoist Li and said.
Afterwards, Taoist nun Yuchen brought Li Zhi to the front of the Taoist temple and said to him, "We need to walk for the rest of the journey. Flying is prohibited in the Taoist land, and all actions can only be carried out by instinct."
Li Zhi pointed at the birds flying in the mountains and asked, "It seems there is no forbidden sky barrier?"
Little Taoist nun Yuchen smiled and said, "Because birds can fly naturally, and if we humans don't practice, we can only walk on the ground. Taoist friend Changshou, do you understand the meaning of the word 'instinct'?"
Li Zhi suddenly realized that all acquired Taoist methods were forbidden and he could only move around here with his innate abilities. The people in Daoyi Holy Land really had some ideas.
Looking at the plain Taoist temple in front of him, which seemed to have no restrictions engraved on it, Li Zhi asked the Taoist nun Yuchen, "What is the connection between this Sanyuan Temple and the Sansheng Temple in the Holy City Stone Archway?"
Little Taoist Nun Yuchen said, "The three Taoist temples you saw while flying here were the Sanyuan Temple, the Sanqing Temple, and the Sansheng Temple."
"Is there anything special about it?" Li Zhi asked.
Little Taoist nun Yuchen said, "In the Sansheng Temple, the true bodies of three great saint-level ancestors are enshrined. In the Sanyuan Temple, the three virtual gods, Yuanqi Great God, Yuanjing Great God, and Yuanling Great God, are enshrined. In the Sanqing Temple, the three pure ones of our Taoism, Lingbao Tianzun, Daode Tianzun and Yuanshi Tianzun, are enshrined. As for why the ancestors arranged it this way, I am not very clear."
At this moment, a young Taoist who looked to be in his twenties walked out of Sanyuan Temple.
The Taoist was dressed in a coarse Taoist robe, his eyes were clear and insightful, as if his mind had not been polluted by any worldly thoughts.
After seeing the Taoist nun Yuchen, the young Taoist said to her, "Junior sister, the Grandmaster is waiting for you."
"Senior Brother Wu Chen, you are coming out of seclusion?" The young Taoist nun Yu Chen said to the young Taoist with some surprise.
"I just came out of retreat yesterday and took on the cleaning task in Sanyuan Temple. The ancestor asked me to be responsible for guiding you here." Taoist Wuchen said very calmly. His voice seemed to be filled with a magical effect that could calm people and purify the worldly thoughts in their hearts.
"What a profound realm of Taoism." Li Zhi was slightly amazed in his heart.
Then, the Taoist Wuchen looked at Li Zhi and said, "Wulian Tianzun, you must be the Taoist Changshou, right? I am Wuchen, nice to meet you."
"Wulian Tianzun, I wish you a long life and a nice meeting with fellow Taoist Wuchen." Li Zhi returned the greeting.
Afterwards, the young Taoist nun Yuchen took Li Zhi into the Sanyuan Temple.
However, he did not stay in Sanyuan Temple, but bypassed the Xushen Temple in the center of the Taoist temple and left Sanyuan Temple directly from the back door.
After walking out of the back door, Li Zhi suddenly asked, "Fellow Daoist Yuchen, what kind of existence are the Yuanqi Great God, Yuanjing Great God, and Yuanling Great God enshrined in Sanyuan Temple? Why have I never heard of their names? And that hall is named Xushen Hall. Could it be that the predecessors of your Daoyi Holy Land have discovered the remains of the Xushen Realm?"
The young Taoist nun Yuchen was surprised and asked, "Fellow Taoist Changshou, do you know the Void God Realm?"
Li Zhi looked at the little Taoist nun Yuchen with some surprise and said, "Do I know that the Void God Realm is very strange?"
Little Taoist Nun Yuchen said excitedly: "Do you really know the Void God Realm?"
"I know. Is there any problem?" Li Zhi looked at the Taoist nun Yuchen in some confusion.
The little Taoist nun Yuchen immediately took Li Zhi's hand and went back to Sanyuan Temple. Then she came to the gate of Xushen Temple and said to the inside: "Disciple Yuchen is sure that the master will open the door."
The closed door of the Void God Temple slowly opened, and Taoist Wuchen came out with a feather duster in his hand and asked, "Junior Sister Yuchen, what happened that made you so emotional?"
The young Taoist nun Yuchen said to Taoist Wuchen with excitement, "Brother Wuchen, Taoist friend Changshou knows about the Void God Realm."
Taoist Wuchen instantly exuded the unique aura of a master of the first level of the Immortal Stage. He looked at Li Zhi excitedly and asked, "Fellow Taoist Changshou, do you really know the Void God Realm?"
"What a strong cultivation." After Li Zhi felt the aura emanating from Taoist Wuchen, he felt a sense of pressure.
Then, he said, "May I ask Daoist Wuchen, do you know what is wrong with the Void God Realm?"
Taoist Wuchen seemed to have cultivated the great magical power of shrinking the earth into an inch. He came to Li Zhi in one step, took his arm, and pulled him into the hall. Then he pointed at the three blank-faced portraits and said, "Fellow Taoist Changshou, do you know the three great gods, Yuanqi, Yuanjing, and Yuanling?"
Li Zhi asked: "Are they related to the Void God Realm?"
Taoist Wuchen asked blankly, "Is it okay?"
Li Zhi said: "I have never heard of the virtual world being related to Yuan Qi, Yuan Jing, and Yuan Ling."
Taoist Wuchen said, "How could this happen?"
At this moment, an old Taoist with white hair and beard and wrinkles all over his face appeared beside Li Zhi and asked, "My dear friend, please tell me what you know about the situation in the Void God Realm."
When Taoist Wuchen and Taoist Nun Yuchen saw the old Taoist appear, they greeted him directly and said, "Greetings, Grandmaster Yuanxu."
"Hello, senior." Li Zhi also spoke.
Afterwards, the old Taoist personally brought a cushion for Li Zhi and motioned for him to sit down and talk.
After Li Zhi sat on the cushion, he asked, "I wonder if you could tell me the origins of these three great gods?"
The old Taoist said: "They have no origins, nor have they ever existed. They are just gods that we invented to express our yearning for the virtual world of gods."
After listening to the old Taoist's explanation, Li Zhi finally understood that the three gods they fabricated represented the three treasures of the human body. The virtual world was also recorded on a stone tablet dug out from an ancient ruin by the predecessors of Daoyi Holy Land. Legend has it that after cultivating to the realm of gods, one can ascend to the virtual world and gain immortality.
But they don’t know how and why they can be immortal.
As for what the virtual world of gods is and whether such a world exists, they don't know either.
There was once a patriarch who had reached the level of a great sage and traveled to various ancient life stars in the universe, but he did not find any clues about the virtual world of gods.
"Fellow Taoist Changshou, do you really know where the Xushen Realm is?" After the old Taoist finished his introduction, he asked Li Zhi in an almost peer tone.
Li Zhi said: "The virtual world that I know is a world built purely by spiritual power. It is a spiritual world covering the entire ancient world that was built by the strong men of the ancient times to cultivate their descendants. They are..."
But before Li Zhi could say the next sentence, he felt a palpitation and suddenly kept silent.
"boom!"
A divine thunderbolt came down from the sky and struck the Xushen Temple, creating a large hole in the roof.
After passing through the roof, the lightning directly struck Li Zhi who was sitting in the hall.
He didn't even have time to react before the divine thunder struck him severely, leaving his body charred and his hair exploded.
This scene stunned the three people present.
"Cough cough," After a long while, Li Zhi coughed twice, got up from the ground with difficulty, and began to practice internal energy to heal his wounds.
After a while, his injuries healed, and Li Zhi said to Taoist Yuanxu: "Wulian Tianzun, I spoke out of turn."
Afterwards, Li Zhi stopped talking about anything related to the Virtual God Realm.
Taoist Yuanxu and Wuchen also apologized repeatedly and even gave him a bottle of healing medicine as an apology.
Then, Taoist Yuanxu said to Taoist Nun Yuchen, "Yuchen, take Taoist friend Changshou to the Patriarch's Hall."
Little Taoist Nun Yuchen said to Li Zhi with an apologetic look on her face: "Fellow Taoist Changshou, I am so sorry for causing you to reveal the secret of heaven and be punished by heaven."
Li Zhi said with lingering fear: "I spoke without thinking, I don't blame you."
Afterwards, the two of them returned to the back door of Sanyuan Temple and stepped onto a mountain path paved with bluestone.
Shortly after they left, seventeen or eighteen old Taoist priests came to Sanyuan Temple from various places of Daoyi Holy Land.
Looking at the hole on the Xu Shen Temple, there is still the residual breath of heavenly punishment.
"Brother Yuanxu, what happened here?" asked an old Taoist priest who came from the Sanqing Temple.
Taoist Yuanxu simply shook his head and said, "Nothing, everyone go back."
Obviously, he was still frightened by the sudden divine punishment just now.
Seeing Yuanxu's reaction, everyone understood the reason. Some taboo must have been triggered here just now, which led to the heavenly punishment.
Then, everyone dispersed.
Taoist Wuchen said to Yuanxu: "Grandmaster, I want to go to the world of mortals for a walk."
Taoist Yuanxu said: "Think carefully, once you step into the mortal world, the Liuli state of mind that you have worked so hard to cultivate may be polluted. With your current level of Taoism, I am afraid you will not be able to completely cut off the mortal energy that has invaded the immortal platform."
Taoist Wuchen said: "My disciple has made up his mind. Even if I am trapped in the world of mortals, I will give it a try."
Taoist Yuanxu said: "Since your heart is set, go ahead."
Afterwards, Taoist Wuchen bid farewell to Taoist Yuanxu, left the Daoyi Holy Land directly, and disappeared in the vast sea of people in the world.
On the other side, following the little Taoist nun Yuchen, after stepping onto the bluestone path,
Li Zhi discovered that the bluestone under his feet bore clear marks of knife and axe chopping. It did not look like stone cut by a cultivator at all, but rather like stone chiseled out by ordinary mortals, and then paved piece by piece to form this bluestone path.
But after careful observation, it suddenly felt that the bluestones became extraordinary. The chaotic marks on the bluestones seemed to be condensed from countless traces.
Walking on it, one can feel an inexplicable rhythm of Tao emerging in one's heart, as if someone specifically used this bluestone path to show the Tao they practiced to outsiders.
Li Zhi asked, "Fellow Daoist Yuchen, these bluestone paths are extraordinary. Who built them?"
Little Taoist Nun Yuchen said, "These bluestones were carved by the ancestors who lived in seclusion in this Taoist land for generations. They have endless Taoist charm. When you set foot on this road for the first time, you will feel the Tao left by the ancestors. It's just that the Tao charm is vague and it is difficult to truly comprehend it. Taoist friend Changshou, you have extraordinary comprehension and may be able to comprehend the Dharma left by the ancestors. You can try to comprehend it."
Li Zhi said: "Then I will try."
Afterwards, Li Zhi emptied his mind and began to capture the rhythm of Tao on the bluestone under his feet.
Soon, the immortal tree in his world on the other side of the sea of wheels, whose 108 leaves had turned into enlightenment tea leaves, began to express a longing emotion.
Then, Li Zhi extended its roots to his feet, making close contact with the bluestones.
The immortal tree immediately began to absorb the Dao rhythm from the bluestone path, as if these Dao rhythms would be of great help to its thriving growth.
During this period, Li Zhi also saw the pure Tao left by countless predecessors in Daoyi Holy Land, which benefited him a lot.
Although there are no specific cultivation scriptures or magical methods in those Tao rhymes, those Taos represent the results of their cultivation and are more precious than any magical methods.
Li Zhi was gradually enveloped by a layer of Tao rhyme, and the five great gods in the Taoist Palace began to chant scriptures with all their might, as if they were turning the Tao rhyme into food and fodder for their growth.
The little Taoist nun Yuchen looked at Li Zhi with surprise as he stood on the bluestone path and seemed to have entered a deep state of enlightenment.
There seemed to be a mysterious sound of chanting coming from him, and a Taoist energy condensed above his head.
The breath of Tao turned into a lotus, then a lotus platform, and then a mysterious blurry little man.
It seemed as if Li Zhi was about to achieve the Taoist Three Flowers Gathering at the Top of the Head, looking quite mysterious.
The journey that was supposed to take half a day took Li Zhi a full half month. He was always surrounded by a strong aura of Taoism.
It’s like swimming in the ocean of the avenue.
The young Taoist nun Yuchen looked at Li Zhi's condition and tried from time to time to sense the Taoist rhyme in him, but she was confused and couldn't grasp it at all.
Finally they came to a small square formed by three bluestone paths extending from different directions.
The Taoist aura on Li Zhi suddenly dissipated, as if it was completely absorbed by him, and then he opened his eyes that had been closed all the way.
"Thank you, Fellow Daoist Yuchen." Li Zhi's soul seemed to have been baptized by the endless avenue. His body was filled with Taoist energy, and he was truly a Taoist master.
"Fellow Taoist Changshou has great concentration." The young Taoist nun Yuchen praised.
He swam freely in that rhythm of Tao without any sign of being lost. His determination in Tao was so strong that it was simply terrifying.
There used to be many geniuses in the Daoyi Holy Land who were arrogant and wanted to comprehend all the traces of the Tao hidden on all the bluestone paths. In the end, they either lost their Tao hearts or died while trying to realize the Tao.
This arrangement is much stronger than the formation barrier and is full of dangers from the avenue level.
As long as one sets foot on this bluestone path for the first time, without the company of a core disciple from Daoyi Holy Land, it is easy to die from enlightenment.
The bluestone path that seems to have no defense is actually full of extreme danger.
