Chapter 1 Cave Heaven Paradise

Chapter 1 Cave Heaven Paradise
The wind howled.

It rained heavily.

Dense, tilted water droplets hit the glass with a crackling sound, and the splashing water made the figure of the person in the window blurred.

This was a man wearing a dark grey coat. He was thin, with slightly curly hair, regular features but a haggard face, heavy dark circles under his eyes, and bloodshot eyes.

He looked carefully at the electronic clock in front of him and counted down along with the numbers on it.

"58, 57..."

This may be the countdown of his life.

The man's name is Wu Xian, and he is a third-rate private detective. This is his detective agency, and he often takes on odd jobs like investigating extramarital affairs, catching mistresses, taking photos of celebrities, and buying train tickets for others.

However, these odd jobs were just to supplement the family income. The case he was actually investigating was a case commissioned by a mysterious employer.

This case is called the 'Fudi Case'.

The Fudi case is an extremely large disappearance case with unknown causes, a global scope, a particularly large number of missing people, and random identities of the missing persons.

According to the data investigated by Wu Xian and his detective partners, the number of people who disappear due to the Fudi case every year is terrifyingly large.

But what is incomprehensible is that even with such a huge number of deaths, the world's population structure remains healthy, social order remains stable, and there is even little public opinion calling for an investigation.

As far as Wu Xian knew, the only ones willing to launch an investigation into this matter were their small group of hired miscellaneous detectives.

As the investigation deepened, Wu Xian's teammates disappeared one after another, and the remaining few people withdrew from the investigation in horror, as if they had seen a ghost.

The only one who persevered to the end was Wu Xian.

But today.

Wu Xian is also going to be 'missing'.

Yesterday at noon, he received a text message.

The sender is 'Fuyuan Chenghuang', and the message is: 'You will enter the blessed land at 2:26 pm on February th, please prepare in advance.'

Wu Xian's detective partners had also received similar text messages. Most of them disappeared, and the rest withdrew from the investigation.

"27, 26..."

The time is getting closer.

There was a hint of fear in Wu Xian's eyes, but more of excitement and anticipation.

Unlike other detectives, Wu Xian investigated this case not for money, nor because he had missing relatives or had some great ideals. He simply had an irrepressible curiosity and obsession with the Fudi case.

He wasted three years on this, invested almost everything he had, ruined his health, racked his brains, and put in all his efforts.

Now I can finally see the answer with my own eyes.

This small detective agency was equipped with twenty-eight cameras and hundreds of traps. He even had a switch in his hand. As long as he pressed it, the pre-deployed bomb would blow the detective agency to the sky.

With such an arrangement, he was confident that no one could take him away quietly.

"Let me see your modus operandi. Hypnosis, drugs, cyborgs, special technology. If it's anything more outrageous, it's probably aliens."

3, 2, 1, the countdown ends.

click!
All the lights went out at the same time, and the display turned into snow. The last image Wu Xian saw was a pair of black hands reaching out from the darkness and covering his eyes.

"This is even more outrageous than I thought."

The coldness invaded Wu Xian's body, making him unable to even press the switch, which made him regret it.

"I was careless. I should have gotten some exorcism charms or something like that and put them on..."

Click.

The lights came on, the room was empty, and the remote control fell under the chair.

……

The cold hand loosened, and Wu Xian opened his eyes and looked around.

He is no longer in the detective agency.

This was an endless dark wilderness, surrounded by three statues. The red candles in front of the statues illuminated the center, and nothing could be seen in the rest of the place.

Wu Xian had two more things in his hands.

In his left hand was a burning incense stick, and in his right hand was a booklet with the words "Certificate of Ordination for Dependents" written on it.

The first page of the certificate reads: "My dear Wu Xian, you have come to the blessed land. Please choose a god to worship. The blessing of the gods is the key to survival in the blessed land." There are six more pages after the certificate.

They were talismans, magical powers, magic tools, blessings, curses, and miscellaneous items. He looked through them one by one, and only the blessing and miscellaneous items pages had specific content.

There is a line of green text on the blessing page.

Unknown Immortal God’s Blessing: [One Becomes Three] – Two more options are added to the reward for worshipping the gods.

The Miscellaneous page has two rows.

Certificate of Ordination for Dependents: Identity proof of dependents in the blessed land. With this certificate, one can enter the blessed land.

Incense for offering sacrifices to gods: ordinary incense sticks that can be used for offering sacrifices to gods.

Wu Xian carefully looked through every word on the certificate and found it a little absurd. He had been investigating the case for three years, but the truth turned out to be a supernatural event?
But at the same time, he felt somewhat happy.

This space made him feel very comfortable and relaxed, just like a wanderer who had worked hard for many years and finally returned to the hometown that raised him and could finally put down his burdens.

Suddenly Wu Xian realized that the darkness behind the statue was stirring, pairs of scarlet eyes were gradually approaching, and the burning speed of the incense in his hand suddenly increased.

What happens after the incense stick burns out?
Wu Xian immediately looked at the three statues.

A statue dressed in yellow and wearing a crown. There are only vague shadows on the hands, feet and head, and dense official script characters are painted on the yellow robe.

One has black hair on its body and protruding bone spurs, resembling a wild beast, and the black horns on its head grow into the shape of a crown.

A statue made up of dozens of blue bubbles, with a crown-shaped halo floating above it, and each bubble contains a mysterious magical weapon.

In front of each statue, there is a table with two red candles and an incense burner on it.

These three statues must have their significance, but the incense sticks were getting shorter and shorter as they burned, leaving Wu Xian no time to ponder for a long time, so he inserted the incense into the incense burner in front of the yellow-robed statue.

There is no particular reason for choosing this statue, except that it looks more like a human.

The moment the incense was inserted, the other two statues disappeared, the restlessness in the darkness also stopped, and the smoke produced by the burning incense formed three smoke talismans on the table.

"Three... Is this the blessing effect of [One Becomes Three]? Originally there should have been only one?"

Wu Xian hovered his hand over the smoke talisman, and a piece of information penetrated into his mind.

True Fire Spell: Releases a beam of true fire. Can be used [3/3] times
Filthy Character: Bless an item and add a trace amount of 'filth' to it, which stops when it is used up. It can pollute magical instruments and break magic.

Double Shot: When you use the next non-double shot talisman, the number of times it is effective is doubled, and the number of times you can use it is [2/2].

Wu Xian didn't know what these talismans were used for, nor did he know what their effects were, but he knew that he had to make a choice before the incense burned out.

"The double-shot method needs to be used in conjunction with other talismans. The dirty characters sound a bit dirty... so I'll choose the True Fire Curse!"

Wu Xian inserted his hand into the smoke of the True Fire Curse and fished out a piece of yellow talisman paper, while the other two smoke talismans disappeared.

After the selection was made, this last statue also disappeared without a trace.

Wu Xian pinched the talisman paper between his fingers, thinking about how to use it.

But before he could figure it out, a pair of black hands reached out from behind him and covered his eyes tightly, and the coldness came again.

Faintly, Wu Xian heard a faint prayer.

Praise the evil mother, offer my flesh and bones, cover my eyes to save my life, clap my hands to worship the Lord...

La la la, I’ve started a new book. I hope you all like it.

  ------

I beg you to read on. If you like this book, please try to read it every day. This is really important for this book.

It’s not easy to write a new book, and it’s even harder to write a new suspense book. I hope you guys can keep up with the latest news as much as possible, woo woo woo.

  ----

Then there's the death toll, which many readers are wondering about.

Many people think that doubling the number of deaths each year is a very large number.

But in fact, this is a setting that should be included in most infinite flow novels, but most of them deliberately avoid it.

You can do the math yourself. Assuming that there are only two people participating in each copy, and only one person dies each time, how many people need to die in order to complete a copy participated by two senior players with one experience, two experiences, three experiences... or even ten experiences?
  The answer is exponential growth.

I think a solution can be provided in the later part of this book.
