Cathy scanned the area with her senses, but didn't find any gangsters walking in a hurry with a rapid heartbeat. It seemed that the person who killed him hadn't arrived yet, but would be here soon.
Cathy continued to spread her perception and found Peter Parker who had just finished fighting in a cage.
"Are you mistaken?" Peter frowned as he looked at the only one hundred dollars. "The advertisement said it was three thousand dollars."
"Then watch it again, you pighead!" The boxing boss who was counting money looked at Peter unhappily, "Three minutes of fighting, three thousand dollars, but what about you? You knocked him down in less than a minute! Fuck! How much money did you make me lose?"
The boss cursed again and waved his hand to tell Peter to get out of here. "Get out of here, I'll give you a hundred fucking bucks."
"I need this money!" Peter was also unhappy. He was going to use the money to buy a second-hand car and then take Mary Jane away from that idiot Frye.
"You need the money?" The boss repeated Peter's words, then his face turned cold, "It's none of my business! Get lost!"
Peter became more and more annoyed. He couldn't help but clench his fist and wanted to put it on his boss' face, but he chose to swallow his anger.
"If I were you, I would punch him and take the money that belongs to you." A voice suddenly appeared in Peter's mind, scaring him.
Peter looked around and saw no one talking, so his eyes widened.
"Why the hell don't you leave yet? Are you waiting for me to ask someone to ask you to leave?" the boss shouted, slamming the table.
Peter just stared with eyes wide open, feeling incredible.
Hallucinated?
"No, you're not hallucinating." The voice sounded again, and this time Peter subconsciously did a somersault and looked around vigilantly.
"WTF!" The boss was also startled and stood up suddenly, "Boy, what do you want to do! This is my territory!"
Peter didn't even look at him, his spider sense activated actively, trying to find the guy who was talking.
The next moment, he suddenly became dazed and felt everything in front of him stretching rapidly. Then he came to a void covered with spider webs and saw a figure.
Cathy.
Cathy, of course.
Behind Cathy's conscious body, an illusory soul spider silk was floating behind her, connecting her to her real body outside the world from afar. And next to her hand, on an area of the spider web, an image suddenly appeared. It was the scene in which Peter had just participated in the fight in the cage.
"Who are you? Where am I!" Peter was horrified and subconsciously used the gesture that could spit spider silk to Cathy.
"I'm Mrs. Spider, and this is the Spider Web Space." Cathy smiled, "But that's not important. What's important is what's going to happen next. Look here."
Cathy pointed to the spider screen next to her and said, "This is what was supposed to happen."
Peter stared at Cathy, glancing at the scene on the screen, and saw the conversation between him and his boss.
In the picture, he left quickly, and then a robber rushed in to rob the money. He did not stop the robber when he ran away, and was questioned by his boss.
"Why didn't you stop him?"
"None of my business."
Seeing his answer like this, Peter's mouth curled up into a satisfied smile.
But soon he couldn't laugh anymore, because on his way home, he met a group of people watching something, and when he went in, he found that his Uncle Ben had been shot!
Peter was extremely excited when he saw this scene.
Then the scene continued. He saw how sad Aunt May was and how angry he was. He fought crime everywhere looking for the shooter, but he found out that the guy was the robber he let go!
This scene made his pupils tremble violently.
"If there is no external interference, this is what you will experience next. What do you think?" Cathy asked.
Peter gritted his teeth, "I want to kill him!"
"You did kill him, but it doesn't mean anything now." Cathy continued to show the screen. In the picture, Peter killed the robber, but you can see from his expression that he doesn't feel relieved or good at all. After all, Uncle Ben is dead and will never come back.
"You know what? The Spider didn't choose you to be a punching bag. Of course, it didn't ask you to bully others, but you shouldn't be bullied to this extent."
"You deserve the three thousand dollars. You shouldn't give up. If you hadn't given up and argued with your boss, you wouldn't have missed the robber. When he robbed you, you would have naturally stopped him, and your Uncle Ben wouldn't have died." Cathy's voice was like the devil's whisper, deeply engraved in Peter's heart.
"Ordinary people cannot change their fate and can only live a mediocre life, but you have such power, enough to change your own fate! You shouldn't wait until something happens to regret it!"
"Although I don't want to say it directly, if you really did that, you don't deserve this power!" "Time is still here, you might as well think carefully about how to use this power. When you make your choice, I will let you go." Cathy then stood aside and waited quietly.
Peter's face was gloomy and his mind was full of the scenes he had just seen.
His spider sense told him that those were all real!
These are all things that are about to happen!
What should he do?
Peter thought about the hurtful words he had said to Uncle Ben in the car today, and about what he had said: With great power comes great responsibility.
He possessed such powerful strength, but ended up killing Uncle Ben. This responsibility is indeed as great as the sky!
He must take full responsibility for Uncle Ben's death!
Peter knew what he should do, and he looked at Cathy.
"Although I don't understand who you are and why you want to help me, thank you all the same. I know what I should do now."
"You'd better really know." Cathy glanced at Peter, and the next moment, Peter's consciousness suddenly returned to his body.
The surrounding environment is no longer the spider web world, but the disgusting boss is still in front of him.
"Hunter!" the boss suddenly yelled, and the sound of a door opening next door was heard, and a sturdy black man in security uniform walked in.
"Throw this kid out!"
The black man immediately walked towards Peter and was about to attack, but Peter moved first.
He knocked the man into a pulp with one punch, and the man flew backwards and hit the wall. Then he walked over under the boss's horrified gaze and slapped the table.
The boss was so frightened that he fell down on his chair.
Peter stared at the boss, then reached out to grab the US dollars on the table and quickly counted 29 of them.
"This is mine!" Peter punched the table and made a hole in it.
The boss nodded repeatedly in fear.
The next moment, the door opened and a man with dyed white hair walked in with a gun in his hand.
He threw the bag on the table and pointed the gun at Peter and the boss, "Put all the money in, now!"
The boss was stimulated continuously and his heart almost stopped beating. He stretched out his hand tremblingly, but Peter suddenly attacked and kicked the gun away.
The robber was stunned for a moment, and the next moment he flew out, hit the wall and lost consciousness.
Peter looked at the boss again, "Forget my face. This has nothing to do with me. Understand?"
The boss nodded stupidly.
Peter then left.
A few blocks away, Ben Parker drove out to buy groceries and returned home safely.
When Peter got home, he hugged Ben Parker without waiting for him to say anything. "Uncle Ben, I'm sorry."
Ben Parker felt the strength of the hug and stopped talking, just hugged Peter tightly.
Suddenly, the house shook violently and the ceiling and walls fell off, as if there was an earthquake.
Peter's spider-sense suddenly activated and his whole body shuddered.
But the vibration soon disappeared, but his sense still reminded him of the danger. Peter didn't know what happened, but he was panicking.
Earthquake? It seems that it is not as simple as an earthquake.
Cathy also felt the vibration. She looked towards the park in Queens not far from Peter's home. There, a crack was vaguely visible, but because it was dark and no one was in the park, no one saw it.
"What is that?" Cathy appeared around the crack in a flash.
She had a strong intuition that this thing was related to Ben Parker's survival! (End of this chapter)
