Chapter 25: I'll Remember This Revenge (Part )
When Ou Zanghua and Qu Feiyan came out of a jewelry store, they were stunned when they saw two little bean sprouts following Xiang Danian.
"Hiss! Feiyan, did I just spend a year in the bookstore?"
"Absolutely not. After a year, there's no way I'll still be this short!" Qu Feiyan said with certainty.
"Then why does my Danian have two younger sisters?" Ou Zanghua originally wanted to say brother and sister-in-law, but looking at their height and body shape, they were probably less than twelve years old, so he couldn't make that kind of joke.
"Senior brother."
He walked towards Da Nian, and the two little girls followed him quickly, as if they were afraid of being left behind.
Xiang Danian looked embarrassed and explained to Ou Zanghua: "These are the two girls I just rescued from the matchmaker."
"Oh?"
After hearing this, Ou Zanghua's expression became serious: "Forcing a good woman into prostitution?"
"No," Xiang Danian shook his head and said with some melancholy, "C sold herself to pay for her mother's medical treatment, and D was sold by her father, and the money was used to buy a wife for her brother."
After hearing this, Ou Zanghua felt a little sad.
If he hadn't met Lao Liu, he probably wouldn't be alive today.
Compared to the two grown men with gloomy faces, the young girl Qu Feiyan was very calm, because she had seen even more miserable people in the cult.
So she understood one thing when she was very young: don't sympathize with the suffering of others, because the bottom line of the world is always much lower than you imagine.
Ou Zanghua sighed and asked, "Do you have a name?"
The two girls shook their heads, and the one beside them explained to Da Nian: "The matchmaker said that giving them a name after buying them is like a new life and saying goodbye to the past. Brother, I have little education, so please help me."
Ou Zanghua was speechless. He would give it a hammer name.
However, at this moment, light snow began to fall from the sky.
He looked at the two little girls who were shivering with cold, pointed at the one with pale skin and said, "From now on, your name will be Zhixue."
Then he looked at the other one with yellowish hair and continued, "Your name is Han Yun."
After hearing this, Zhixue and Hanyun smiled on their pale little faces.
They heard from the matchmaker that if the host family is willing to take the time to name them, it is a good sign, at least proving that the other party will accept them.
When Xiang Danian heard this, he said happily, "As expected of you, Senior Brother. The name you gave is really nice."
"Let's go! Let's go back to the inn and rest. I'll leave them to you."
After Ou Zanghua finished speaking, he turned around and left with Qu Feiyan.
"what?"
Xiang Danian was shocked, he quickly followed and wanted to ask his senior brother how to deal with it.
But the senior brother seemed not to want to pay attention to him. He kept chatting with Qu Feiyan, and asked Zhixue and Hanyun from time to time, but he never looked at him directly.
After arriving at the inn, Xiang Danian finally got anxious when he saw his senior brother entering the room. He quickly stopped him and said, "Senior brother, men and women should not be intimate with each other. We can't sleep together!"
"So," Ou Zanghua patted Xiang Danian's shoulder and said with a smile, "You sleep on the floor and give the bed to others."
Xiang Danian looked at his smiling senior brother and suddenly trembled all over, and the familiar feeling came back.
Senior brother is angry!
What’s more, the master and the junior sister are not here, which is the most terrifying thing.
Thinking of this, Xiang Danian immediately straightened his attitude and said, "I know, please rest assured, brother." "You don't know..."
Ou Zanghua walked into the room, and his voice came: "Brother doesn't care what you do. I am here to protect you. But you must have your own judgment and not be led by others. This time it was the matchmaker, what about next time?"
"I hope you can think seriously about how your life should go."
Xiang Danian was stunned for a moment, looking at the closed door, he lowered his head and returned to his room.
After hearing the sound, he turned his head and found Zhixue and Hanyun standing side by side beside the bed, seemingly waiting for his orders.
"You two sleep on the bed, I'll sleep here." Xiang Danian picked up a quilt and put the chair and table together, barely enough for him to lie down halfway.
He stared at the roof with his eyes wide open, thinking about what his senior brother had just said.
The next day, when Qu Feiyan went out to get hot water for Ou Zanghua, she saw Xiang Danian with panda eyes as soon as she opened the door.
"Eh?! Brother Da Nian, you... last night..."
"Fei Yan, is senior brother up?" Xiang Da Nian asked directly.
"I'm up," Qu Feiyan nodded and said, "I'll get some hot water, you go in."
Having said that, she walked around Da Nian and went downstairs.
Xiang Danian walked into the room, saw Ou Zanghua writing, and stood quietly by his side.
After a while, Ou Zanghua blew dry the ink on the paper covered with words, put it into an envelope, and then put it into the box given by Cheng Zhirou.
Looking at his junior fellow apprentice, Ou Zanghua said gently: "Send this to the People's Postal Bureau and ask them to send it back to Hengshan."
The so-called private postal bureau is a privately-run profit-making institution whose business includes sending letters, items, and handling foreign exchange.
This institution existed as early as the Yongle period and was first founded by Ningbo merchants.
By the late Qing Dynasty, there were thousands of private post offices of all sizes across the country, with offices spread across the country and Asia, Australia and the Pacific region where overseas Chinese live. They formed three major systems: inland post offices, ship post offices, and overseas Chinese post offices. These systems were not officially abolished until the 19th year of the Republic of China.
At this moment, Xiang Danian felt a little jealous as he looked at his senior brother who treated him gently as always.
After taking the box, he said seriously: "Brother, from now on, I will only listen to you and Master!"
"You can continue to think about it."
Ou Zanghua smiled, and just then Qu Feiyan came up with some hot water, so he got up and went to wash up.
When he returned to the sand boat, Qu Yang glanced at the two new girls in the team, and then looked at his granddaughter with some hesitation.
The granddaughter shook her head quietly, indicating that it had nothing to do with the young master, and Qu Yang finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After Xiang Danian came back, the sand ship set sail again and continued to head north.
Ou Zanghua was still sitting in his room reading and practicing the piano. Apart from the two more people on the boat, there was no other change.
When the ship sailed out of Yangzhou, the helmsman Lao Yu suddenly realized something was wrong. He immediately called a sailor and asked him to warn everyone on the ship.
In a short while, Qu Yang, Xiang Danian and others who received the news came to Ou Zanghua's room at the same time.
Ou Zanghua had a sword beside him and had already put out his zither. He stroked the strings and asked calmly, "Uncle Qu, can you figure out who the other party is?"
Qu Yang looked outside through the window, frowned slightly and said, "My lord, they didn't use flag signals, nor did they have any obvious signs. This is not the style of the Divine Religion."
"Have we offended anyone else?" Qu Feiyan asked with some confusion.
Ou Zanghua plucked the strings of his zither and said calmly, "I have never offended anyone, so it is probably because I showed off my wealth that I got into trouble."
