Chapter 110 Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng

Chapter 110 Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng
The prime minister Shangguan Yi and others were also very annoyed after watching the sky curtain. The queen was tyrannical, so it would be better to depose her.

The difference is that they don't intend to give in like Pei Xingjian.

Civil and military officials racked their brains and held several banquets in private, trying to unite and force Li Zhi to depose the queen.

At this time, Wang Bo finally entered the palace. After Li Zhi saw the sky curtain, he knew that he would be angry with Wang Bo in the future. He felt a little embarrassed, but he didn't show it on his face.

He couldn't wait to go up to him, took Wang Bo's hand affectionately, and asked him to sit down.

Wang Bo and Queen Wang were both from the Wang family of Taiyuan and were somewhat related.

Li Zhi was just about to bring up this matter to improve their relationship, but when he caught a glimpse of Mei Niang next to him, he finally shut up.

Mei Niang was next to him, and she would definitely be unhappy if he mentioned Queen Wang.

Seeing this, Wu Meiniang took the initiative to retreat with understanding.

When Wang Bo learned that he would be punished for his words in the future, he would be lying if he said he was not upset. He always felt that Your Majesty was not a monarch like Yao and Shun, and did not even have the legacy of Emperor Taizong Wen.

Now His Majesty treated him very kindly. He was flattered, but he was not completely relieved.

He was neither humble nor arrogant, and answered whatever His Majesty asked.

The more Li Zhi asked, the more surprised he was. Wang Bo was very knowledgeable. No wonder he was a great talent who left his name in history.

At this time, the sky curtain was still playing, and he didn't want to miss the important information, so he smiled and invited: "My dear, watch the sky curtain with me."

"The minister obeys the order."

Li Zhi looked up at the sky and suddenly felt a little melancholy.

When Tianmu said that the two saints were in power, Li Zhi was a little surprised, but not too shocked.

In recent years, he has been in poor health and has been so busy that Mei Niang has been helping him deal with state affairs. She has handled everything well and is very capable. It is possible that he will delegate power to her in the future.

His mother passed away very early and her image has become blurred, but her kindness and wisdom are still deeply rooted in his mind.

After Tianmu said this, there will definitely be a lot of people who will oppose Mei Niang's participation in politics. He has already imagined what kind of storm he will face next.

Mei Niang is as virtuous, wise and capable as her mother, but she is always trapped in the harem because of her status.

If his mother were still alive, would she agree with his decision to let Mei Niang participate in politics? Would she oppose him like those ministers?
【Wang Bo escaped the death penalty and had a bright future. The current crown prince was his former boss. He had accompanied the crown prince to study and might also accompany the emperor to study in the future. He also had many friends. Lu Zhaolin and Yang Jiong, two of the Four Talents of the Early Tang Dynasty, had good relations with him. Soon after he was released, someone asked him to return to the court to serve as an official.

However, after experiencing life and death, Wang Bo had given up on his career and refused the opportunity to be an official. He just wanted to wander among the mountains and rivers, bury himself in writing articles, and did not want to return to the sad place.

He also wanted to visit his father and take care of him until the end of his life.

Because Wang Bo killed the official slave Cao Da, his father Wang Fuzhi was implicated. Wang Fuzhi was demoted from the post of military officer in Yongzhou to the magistrate of Jiaozhi County.

Where is this Jiaozhi?

This place is no longer our country's territory, it is in the north of Vietnam.

Because of his own reasons, his old father was exiled far away to the southern wilderness.

The Mekong Plain in Vietnam is very fertile, with a subtropical monsoon climate, very suitable for growing food, and is the world's granary. my country ranks first, and Vietnam ranks second. But in ancient times, it was a barren land covered with dense jungles, surrounded by dangers, and filled with poisonous fog.

Wang Bo was very filial to his father. Seeing his father being punished because of him, he was deeply distressed and said, "Now you have been exiled to the state of Yan and have been sent to govern a distant border town. You have sailed across the Three Rivers and floated on the Five Lakes, and crossed the Dong'ou and the South China Sea. Alas! This is all my fault."

"My father was banished to that wild land because of my fault. It was my fault!"

Wang Bo then went down the canal to visit his old father.

A single stone caused a thousand waves, and countless emperors were shocked. Of course, it was not because of Wang Bo's family visit, but because of the so-called Vietnam. "The land of the Mekong River Plain in Vietnam is very fertile...very suitable for growing food, and it is the world's granary. my country ranks first, and it ranks second."

Countless emperors: “???”

Keyword awareness!
Although I don’t understand what subtropical climate means, the four words “world’s granary” are enough.

How could such a remote place produce so much rice? And it was called the world's granary in the future? The area of that place is less than one-tenth of China!
Moved! Their hearts were moved!
Qin Shihuang was suddenly shocked when he heard this.

He sent Zhao Tuo and Tu Sui with an army of 500,000 to march south to pacify Lingnan.

In the south, he took the land of Baiyue and made it Guilin Xiangjun. (Xiangjun governed the western part of present-day Guangxi and the northern and central parts of Vietnam.) That uncivilized place was filled with poisonous fog and many poisonous insects, and countless soldiers died before he conquered Nanyue.

I didn’t expect that it would be lost in the future!

It sounds like it was lost after the Tang Dynasty. After all, during the Tang Dynasty, Wang Bo's father was demoted there.

The future is the future, and the present is the present. We need to take precautions before they happen.

He thought for a moment and made a decision: "Come here, summon Zhao Tuo and Tu Sui back to the court."

Since it was a place specifically mentioned by Tianmu, he had to think of a way to spread the teachings of the saints from the Central Plains to that barren land and educate the Nanyue natives who ate raw meat and drank blood.

Well, he is definitely not coveting the world's granary.

[During this visit to relatives, Wang Bo passed through Hongzhou, which is today's Nanchang, exhausted.

Yan Boyu, the governor of Hongzhou, rebuilt the Tengwang Pavilion, held a grand banquet here, and invited local celebrities and talented people to attend.

Wang Bo went south to visit his relatives and happened to pass by this place. Because he was famous, he was also invited to the banquet.

This banquet was actually held by Governor Yan to build momentum for his son-in-law, Scholar Meng.

Before the banquet, he asked his son-in-law to prepare the article, waiting for him to show off his skills at the banquet.

At the banquet, Governor Yan pretended to invite the talented people present to write articles, but the invited people knew the inside story and declined to write.

At this moment, Wang Bo stood up and took the paper and pen.

Governor Yan probably didn't expect that he would meet someone with such low emotional intelligence as Wang Bo, but the words had been spoken, and it was difficult for Wang Bo to refuse, so he had to let him write.

Governor Yan was very unhappy because of Wang Bo's ignorance of the current situation. He stood up and went behind the tent.

However, he had long heard of Wang Bo's talent and wanted to know what he could write, so he asked someone to see what Wang Bo had written and report to him.

When he heard Wang Bo wrote "Yuzhang old county, Hongdu new capital" at the beginning, the governor didn't take it seriously, thinking it was just a cliché and nothing special. Then he heard Wang Bo write "The stars are divided into Yi and Zhen, and the land is connected to Heng and Lu", and he was silent.

When he heard the line “The setting sun and the solitary wild goose fly together, the autumn water and the sky are the same color,” Governor Yan could not help but sigh in admiration and said, “This is a true genius who will be immortal!”

The first parallel prose in history, "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng", was produced in the Pavilion of Prince Teng. Since then, Wang Bo's name has been passed down through the ages along with the Pavilion of Prince Teng.

After the banquet at Tengwang Pavilion, Wang Bo continued on his journey.

Because of the inconvenient transportation in ancient times, Wang Bo spent more than half a year and finally reached Jiaozhi County and met his father Wang Fuzhi.

After briefly accompanying his father for a few months, he set out on his journey home.

He met an acquaintance in Vietnam, whose name was Yuwen Jun, one of the scholars he had met in Tengwang Pavilion. Yuwen Jun was also banished to an island by the emperor.

We are both wanderers in this world, so why should we know each other when we meet? The two met again after a long separation and became close friends.

It happened that Yuwen Jun was going the same way as him, so the two of them set off together and returned by boat.

Unfortunately, a storm suddenly arose at sea, with howling winds and surging waves. Wang Bo was on a boat and unfortunately drowned, dying of shock.

At that time, his "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng" was very popular in the Tang Dynasty and was known to the world, but the person who wrote "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng" disappeared in the vast ocean.

Wang Bo was like a meteor, brilliant and short-lived, quickly crossing the night sky of the early Tang Dynasty. After him, the prosperous Tang Dynasty slowly began.

Sometimes I wonder, if Wang Bo could live longer, would the prosperous Tang Dynasty be even more dazzling? It’s a pity that there are no ifs in history.

We will briefly talk about Wang Bo's story here. 】

People who lived in the early Tang Dynasty saw the prosperous Tang Dynasty through the sky curtain and were full of expectations for such a prosperous era. Wang Bo was no exception.

After seeing his own life, he decided to accompany his father.

He knows medicine, so he could be a doctor. In his spare time, he could write poetry and articles and live his life like this. It seems to be a good choice.

[Let us now appreciate the "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng", which is praised as "the best parallel prose through the ages".

Yuzhang is the old county, Hongdu is the new capital. The stars are divided into Yi and Zhen, and the land is connected to Heng and Lu. It is surrounded by three rivers and five lakes, and controls the barbarians and attracts Ouyue. The natural treasures are abundant, and the dragon light shines on the ruins of Niudou; the people are outstanding and the land is blessed, and Xu Ru sleeps on Chen Fan's couch. The heroic state is covered with mist, and the outstanding talents are like stars. The terrace is on the edge of the barbarians and the Chinese, and the guests and hosts enjoy the beauty of the southeast. The elegant reputation of the governor Yan Gong, the halberd is far away; the virtuous model of Yu Wen Xinzhou, the canopy and curtain are temporarily stationed. During the ten-day vacation, there are many good friends; when you meet thousands of miles away, the room is full of distinguished guests. The soaring dragon and the phoenix are the masters of Meng Xueshi's poetry; the purple lightning and clear frost are the arsenal of General Wang. My father is the mayor, and the road leads to a famous area; how can a child know that he will personally witness the victory banquet.

It is September, the third month of autumn. The floodwaters have dried up and the cold ponds are clear. The mists are condensed and the evening mountains are purple. I ride on a horse on the road to visit the scenery in Chong'a. I come to the Changzhou of the Emperor's son and find the old residence of the gods. The mountains are green and towering, reaching the sky; the flying pavilions are red and flowing, and there is no land below. Cranes and ducks are on the shore, and the islands are winding; the laurel palaces and orchid palaces are the shape of the mountains.

I look through the embroidered door and down the carved eaves. The mountains and plains are vast and the rivers and lakes are winding. The houses are full of bells and the food is served on bronze tripods. The boats fill the river, with green birds and yellow dragons on their bows. The clouds are gone and the rain has stopped, the sky is bright. The setting sun and the solitary wild goose fly together, the autumn water and the sky are the same color. The fishermen sing in the evening, the sound reaches the end of the Pengli shore; the geese are startled by the cold, and their cries stop at the Hengyang harbor.

My mind is relaxed and my spirit is high. The sound of the music brings the breeze, the delicate song brings the white clouds. The green bamboos in Suiyuan are as majestic as the wine jars in Pengze; the red flowers in Yeshui shine on the brushes in Linchuan. Four beauties are present, two are hard to combine. I gaze at the sky and enjoy myself on my free days. The sky is high and the earth is vast, and I feel the infinity of the universe; when my spirit is exhausted and sadness comes, I know the number of fullness and emptiness. I look at Chang'an under the sun and see Wuhui in the clouds. The terrain is extreme and the South Sea is deep; the pillar of heaven is high and the North Star is far away. The mountains and rivers are difficult to cross, who will pity the lost people? When we meet by chance, we are all strangers from other places. I miss the emperor's gatekeeper but cannot see him, how many years will I serve in the Xuanshi Hall?

Alas! Luck is not equal, life is full of twists and turns; Feng Tang is easy to grow old, Li Guang is hard to be appointed. Jia Yi was exiled to Changsha, not because there was no sage ruler; Liang Hong was exiled to Haiqu, not because there was no enlightened time? It is because the gentleman sees the opportunity and the wise know the destiny. Old age makes people stronger, why would they change their mind when they are old? Poverty makes people stronger, and they will never lose their ambition to reach the sky. Drinking from the Greedy Spring makes people feel refreshed, and being in a dry rut makes people happy. Although the North Sea is far away, it can be reached by the rising wind; the east corner has passed, but it is not too late to enjoy the sunset. Meng Chang was noble, but he had the desire to serve his country; Ruan Ji was rampant, why would he cry like a desperate man!
Bo, a humble scholar with a three-foot-tall life. I have no way to volunteer, waiting for the young man Zhongjun; I have the ambition to give up my pen, admiring the long wind of Zongque. I give up my hairpin and sceptre at the age of one hundred, serving the morning and evening in thousands of miles. I am not a precious tree of Xie family, but a neighbor of Meng family. In the future, I will go to the courtyard and accompany the carp; now I hold my sleeves and happily entrust myself to the dragon gate. If I didn't meet Yang Yi, I would stroke the clouds and feel sorry for myself; if I met Zhong Qi, why should I feel ashamed to play the flowing water?
Alas! Beautiful places are not permanent, grand banquets are hard to come by again; Lanting is gone, Zize is a wasteland. I am lucky to receive your gracious farewell gift; I hope you all will write poems on the heights. I dare to express my humble thoughts and write a short introduction; I write poems with one word, and four rhymes are all completed. Please pour out the Panjiang River, and pour out the clouds of land and sea.

King Teng Gaoge Linjiangzhu, Peiyu Mingluan singing and dancing.

Painted buildings fly towards Nanpuyun, and bead curtains are rolling in the rain.

The shadows of Xianyuntan are lingering, and things change for a few times in autumn.

Where is the emperor's son in the pavilion now? Outside the threshold, the Yangtze River flows freely. 】

〈Wang Bo died in 676, more than years before the Kaiyuan Prosperity. During these years, a large number of great poets were born. If Wang Bo had lived another years, he would definitely have been the leader who opened the prosperous Tang Dynasty.〉

〈What a pity, so you still have to know how to swim.〉

〈In the vast ocean, even if you can swim, there is nothing you can do. Ancient ships are too unsafe.〉

〈He is not alone in the boat. If he falls into the water, he can swim while waiting for others to rescue him if he can.〉

[This issue of Wang Bo, one of the Four Great Poets of the Early Tang Dynasty, has ended. See you next time.]

Because of the appearance of the sky curtain, some changes have taken place in each world.

Tang Dynasty.

Wang Bo hurried back home, and the closer he got to home, the more nervous he became.

Would his father blame him? Would his father be angry when he knew he had resigned?
Soon, Wang Bo met his father, mother, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces. The whole family looked at him like a panda, as if they were meeting Wang Bo for the first time.

My son/brother/uncle actually went up to the sky curtain!
A group of children looked at Wang Bo with sparkling eyes. If their father hadn't stopped them from making a fuss, they would have rushed over to ask him about the sky curtain the next second.

It had only been half a day since they last met, but Wang Bo felt as if he had been in another world when he saw his father again: "Yeah yeah..."

When Wang Bo's father saw that he was not kept in the palace but ran back home, he guessed what had happened.

It is very likely that Wang Bo became disillusioned with his official career and chose to resign.

The king's father sighed in his heart. With this broadcast on the TV screen, Wang Bo would surely rise to a high position and it would not be impossible for him to become the prime minister!
Is it really worth giving up a bright future?

If he hadn't seen the sky curtain, he would have persuaded Wang Bo to return to Li Zhi.

But now he already knows his son's almost tragic future.

He just couldn't bring himself to say the words to ask Wang Bo to go back.

Alas, the self in the sky forced Wang Bo to return to Chang'an, which led to Wang Bo's drowning. Both father and son died in a foreign land, and their graves were destroyed.

Fame, wealth and status will all become nothing and become a laughing stock for future generations.

There is no "Exhortation to the King of England" yet, so there is still time for everything.

Tianmu has already given them, the father and son, a chance, so they must not let the tragedy happen again!

He was both proud and sad, and patted his shoulder: "You must be hungry, eat first! We can talk later if there is anything else."

Living in peace and safety is a blessing. It would be nice for Bo'er to become a wealthy man with his literary talent.

"……it is good!"
