Chapter 6 Hunting in the Forest
Five months later.
Sporadic snowflakes have begun to float over the mountains and forests of Pokhara.
This indicates that winter is about to come to the Anzeta Plateau, and wild animals begin to hunt in groups, preparing for the long and cold winter.
There was a rustling sound in the woods, and gray figures were moving quickly through the woods.
The protruding snout, inverted triangle-shaped blue eyes, and sharp teeth all reveal their identity: dire wolves.
One of the top predators in the jungle, a master of group hunting tactics.
In front of them was a herd of panicked deer, running for their lives.
The wolves seemed to be taking their time. The strongest dire wolf in the lead let out a long howl, and the rest of the dire wolves responded with soft howls.
There were more than ten wolves in this pack. They cooperated with each other. Some drove the deer away from the rear, some outflanked the deer from the side, and some even disappeared, gradually forming a formation like an open pocket.
After dozens of minutes of chasing, the wolves took the absolute initiative and drove the deer herd that had lost their footing to a mountain pass without expending too much energy.
The forest deer were panicked by the wolves' relentless pursuit and regarded the pass as their last escape route, rushing in as if they were grasping at a life-saving straw.
In this chaotic situation, even small young deer were trampled to death.
But they didn't expect that what they thought was a life-saving straw was actually a trap.
"Ouch - ow -"
When all the deer entered the valley, the wolf king let out a long trumpet excitedly, and the dire wolf that had disappeared before appeared at the other end of the valley. The wolf pack surrounded the entire deer herd, more than 30 deer, in this narrow pass.
The deer were now in great disarray, running into obstacles everywhere, only to find that there were wolves everywhere, eyeing them hungrily.
The wolves' eyes were already flashing with dark blue light, and they swarmed forward impatiently.
For a moment, blood splattered everywhere, wailing continued, and the valley was filled with the smell of blood.
In the end, the leading stag used its huge horns to break through the wolf blockade on the other side and led more than a dozen deer to escape, leaving more than a dozen delicious bodies in the valley.
The wolf pack's goal has been achieved.
The dire wolves rushed forward and tore the flesh of the deer, hoping to have a good meal before winter came and survive the extremely cold winter in the north.
The wolf king chewed the most delicious offal, enjoying this carefully prepared and hard-earned meal.
A cloud of mist rose in the valley.
The wolves didn't take it seriously at first, until the fog became thicker and thicker, causing the entire pack to enter a hazy and chaotic state where they couldn't see each other clearly, and then they started to panic.
Mysterious black shadows flashed through the clouds from time to time.
"Click, click"
I don't know whether it was the sound of wolves crushing deer bones or the sound of wolves being crushed.
There were more chaotic howls of wolves coming from the fog, perhaps hunting orders, or attack horns, or permission to eat. To the wolves, they sounded illogical, yet meaningful.
If there were a knowledgeable wizard here, he would be able to easily recognize that this is just a trick [magic trick] - creating some additional sounds and touches through spells.
Unfortunately, these beasts are unaware of this and are instinctively panicked by the unknown, to the point of losing some of their minds.
"Ouch——"
The wolf king stood up alertly and let out long trumpet calls to call his companions.
The wolves howled in confusion, trying to confirm each other's approximate location.
But the thick fog had blurred their vision, and there were noisy and strange noises, making it impossible for them to tell the direction and obtain any useful information.
The wolf king suddenly noticed a strange sound in the sky.
Whistling like the wind.
It subconsciously raised its head, but its pupils only reflected the blazing flames.
"boom--"

"A great harvest, not a single one escaped."
Cassius exhaled a brisk breath of hot, sulfurous air and then spread his wings.
The crimson silhouette flew across the valley and hovered above the mountains and forests.
The red dragon transformed into a terrifying hunter, overlooking the many creatures in the forest, continuing to search for the next prey. The ferocious beasts that ordinary people avoided were just walking experience bags in his eyes.
Next to the bushes on the ground, a huge and ferocious wild boar was digging up the soil, looking for anything it could eat.
Whether it is the juicy roots of ferns, small snakes about to hibernate, or some clods of soil containing special elements, they will become food for this wild boar.
This ferocious wild boar was more than two meters tall at the shoulder, and looked like a small mountain from a distance. Its fangs were like two scimitars, extending from both sides of its mouth. Under its thick fur was a thick layer of fat, and outside the fur was covered with hard soil accumulated over the years.
Ordinary iron swords cannot even cut through this natural armor, and only the most experienced hunters dare to challenge this terrifying beast.
"Hmm."
The ferocious wild boar couldn't help but snort.
It sprayed out a ball of mud, and continued to dig its rough nose downwards, rummaging around, and finally found the pupa of some unknown insect.
The ferocious wild boar swallowed this precious protein hastily as if it were a treasure.
Suddenly, it discovered that there seemed to be a small snake in the grass not far away, and it was swimming forward as if it was escaping.
Hum
The ferocious wild boar chased after him at a brisk pace.
The little snake appeared and disappeared from time to time, luring the wild boar to a cliff.
When the fat beast took small steps and rushed forward hurriedly, ready to take the snake into its mouth and chew it, the snake shadow disappeared again.
A dark shadow was cast above the cliff.
【Magic Missile】
Several arcane orbs hit the wild boar's thick hide directly, causing him difficult-to-defend and unstoppable magical force field damage.
The ferocious wild boar couldn't help but let out a painful howl, followed by a frenzy after being injured.
"The beast is rampaging!"
Its eyes were red with anger, the hair on its towering back suddenly exploded, it circled around looking for a target to attack, and its hooves trampled the ground, raising dust.
"Whoosh-"
This state is similar to the characteristics of a barbarian. In this state, the wild boar's strength and constitution will receive terrible bonuses.
What's more terrifying is that it will become fearless of pain and tireless. Countless adventurers thought they had seriously injured it, but were bitten in half by its angry fangs.
However, the angry beast looked around again and again, but could not find its target or the source of the attack, and could only vent its excess, tidal anger everywhere.
"boom!"
"Boom! Boom!"
It used its huge body to slam the cliff wall, shaking off pieces of rubble, and used its sharp fangs to pierce the soil and crush the trees.
A few minutes passed.
When the rampage ended, the beast lay exhausted on the ground.
The surrounding environment was already in a mess, with rubble all over the ground, the soil turned over and torn into pieces, and the cliff walls covered with cracks.
And it seemed to have recovered from its anger at being hurt, and began to leisurely nibble on the grass roots on the ground.
"Ignis (Fire Arrow)!"
A flaming arrow fell from the sky, burning its fur black.
Immediately afterwards, another red figure swooped down from the sky and clung directly to the towering back.
"Ouch."
The ferocious pig let out a crying sound, but it no longer had the strength to stand up and fight.
It could only allow the red dragon on its back to bite its spine with its sharp teeth, ending its life cleanly and efficiently.
This jungle bully, who no one dared to provoke, died in such a miserable way.

Tear off the tough fur and scrape off the thick fat to reveal the bloody fresh meat underneath.
Cassius didn't even heat it up. He just picked a piece of fresh meat from the tenderloin, tore it off, and put it in his mouth, chewing it.
Red dragons have their own unique digestive system, which means they can eat anything. Most of what they eat is converted into nutrients needed for growth, and the rest is converted into abundant elemental energy, with very little waste.
“The pork was chewy but a little overcooked.”
With a mouth full of blood, the red dragon did not forget to make some comments.
