Chapter 103: The Battle of Scouts
On the edge of the Storm Peak, more than forty giant eagles were flying in a neat formation.
On the back of each of these giant eagles there is a knight in plate armor, with patterns of eagles and swords on the knight's chest.
They are relatives of the Rackman family, the renowned Eagle Guards of the North Wind. This time they sent out an entire order of knights, a total of forty-eight Eagle Guards as war scouts to spy on the enemy from the air.
The Rackman family spent all their savings this time.
The North Wind Eagle Guard was the sixth regiment, formed by the reorganization of Alger's previous remnants.
Their current leader is named Nellie, the only female leader among the six North Wind Eagle Guards, and was once Alger's trusted subordinate.
Nellie was wearing heavy plate armor and holding the captain's exclusive Silver Eagle Sword in her hand. Her clear eyes were full of determination.
“I’m back here again.”
"Storm High Slope."
She murmured, her voice trembling.
This can be said to be the place of her inner demons. The captain she once admired stayed here forever in order to let them escape, not knowing whether he would live or die. She believed that he would not succumb to the evil dragon.
Most of the comrades who had fought together with the Sixth Regiment were buried in the sea of dragon flames.
Thinking of this, Nellie gritted her teeth and swore to herself.
"I will avenge you, Captain."
"And my comrades."
"I swear, even if it costs us our lives, we will destroy this nest of evil, repay the Duke's kindness, and let justice and order run through the entire Anzeta!"
Thinking of this, Nellie squeezed her legs together and urged the giant eagle under her to speed up.
"Wow—"
A long eagle cry was heard in the air.
However, she forgot that the airspace over Storm Peak was no longer the place where Eagle Guards could fly freely. There were now eighteen Red Scale Conquerors in the Burning Embers Nest.
With the advent of a large-scale war, the Redscale Conquerors patrol the fringe areas day and night, destroying all possible enemies.
"Captain, there seems to be something going on ahead!"
The leading Eagle Guard reported.
Nellie looked into the distance and saw more than a dozen huge flying dragons coming aggressively, and at the front of the team was a rare dragon-vein giant eagle.
On the backs of those dragon creatures were knights wearing heavy armor and carrying a variety of weapons, but they all had ferocious dragon heads, looking like half dragons and half humans.
"Damn it, it's the Red Dragon's minions!"
"Northern Wind Eagle Guards, prepare to fight!"
Nellie gritted her teeth.
The Eagle Howling Silver Sword was swung in the air, making a sharp whistling sound.
She didn't know about the existence of the Redscale Conquerors, but these evil followers with dragon veins had long been notorious in the surrounding area.
On the Red Scale Conquerors' side, the leader Alger had already discovered the enemy's traces.
After all, this group of Eagle Guards swaggered into the airspace of the Burning Embers Nest without any disguise, so they naturally could not escape Alger's experienced eyes. What's more, dragons are naturally more visually sensitive than humans.
When he looked at the leader, a hint of surprise flashed across his golden pupils.
"Nellie?"
This was his former subordinate, the follower who always liked to stick to him, a very tough woman.
But I didn't expect that we would meet again on the battlefield.
Alger quickly calmed down, his eyes fixed firmly on the enemy in the distance.
"The former Eagle Guard Alger has died under the dragon's flames. Now the only ones left alive are the minions of the evil dragon and the ruthless Red Scale Conqueror."
Gently stroking the giant eagle's feathers to calm its abnormal movements, it seemed that Igor also recognized the old friend opposite him.
"Iger, get ready."
"But it is"
"Everyone is his own master."
His softly whispered words were lost in the whistling wind.
Alger raised the Everburning Greatsword, causing the blade to burn with blazing flames, like a bright lamp in the sky.
He shouted loudly: "Red Scale Conqueror, follow me to destroy them!" The dozen or so players behind him cheered in various ways.
"Go, go, go!"
"It's on fire!"
"For the Burning Nest!"
"Contribute to the camp!"
"Damn, is air combat so exciting?"
Faced with the larger but fewer dragon riders, the North Wind Eagle Guards led by Nellie subconsciously chose a large circle formation, hoping to rely on the giant eagle's mobility advantage and the Eagle Guards' numerical advantage to encircle and annihilate the dragon riders.
But they didn't expect that before they got close, there would be casualties in the battle.
Hundreds of meters away, Singo drew his bow and arrow, aiming at the eagle guard who was the vanguard - the giant eagle under his mount.
"Feilong, hold on."
Purple runes appeared on the giant eagle's body, but it was unaware of it and continued to fly steadily under the control of the Eagle Guard.
Singo loosened his hand, and with the help of his expertise [Elf Accuracy] and the spell [Hunter's Mark], his arrows never missed their target.
"Whoosh-"
The arrow flew out rapidly.
It went straight through the giant eagle's chest and pierced its heart accurately.
The giant eagle fell helplessly, and the eagle guard also fell down wailing, inevitably heading towards death.
The players of Red Scale Conqueror were in an uproar.
"Brilliant!"
"Xin Gou got the first blood!"
"My contribution value!"
"I'm not reconciled!"
Mantou, who was standing by, saw the fallen Eagle Guard and couldn't help but say, "Damn it, Xin Gou, you are just lucky, right? You can hit it from such a distance."
Singo snorted coldly and said, "Do you understand the value of the Elf Archer? This is the skill. If you don't agree, come and fight me in a solo."
Mantou knew he was no match for his opponent, but he still said stubbornly: "I finally managed to dodge an arrow, and I asked you to pretend."
"Can you shoot another arrow?"
Singo said: "This time the opponent just wasn't prepared. As long as the opponent is not stupid, they will make adjustments."
He pointed at the Eagle Guards, and sure enough, the enemy's formation had changed.
In the North Wind Eagle Guard, Nellie looked at her fallen subordinates with a look of surprise on her face, muttering to herself:
"How can it be"
According to her many years of combat experience, the accuracy of horse archery in the air is greatly reduced, not to mention that it is hundreds of meters away. Even on the ground it is difficult to hit such a distant target, so she did not make any additional arrangements when approaching.
The death of the Eagle Guard can only mean one thing - the strength of these evil dragon minions is far beyond their imagination!
Nellie quickly raised the Eagle's Silver Sword and shouted:
"Spread out!"
"Be careful to dodge the archers on the opposite side!"
The Eagle Guards dispersed to avoid unnecessary collisions.
They began to display their superb riding skills, constantly changing directions, trying to surround them from all sides.
"Whoosh-"
Another arrow.
Feathers were flying in the air.
An Eagle Guard who was tumbling forward fell down with a wail.
Singo put down his longbow, glanced at Mantou who was standing beside him with his jaw dropped, and said calmly:
"It's so fancy, it's really vulnerable."
Mantou had no room to be stubborn anymore, so he could only say angrily: "You really let me pretend."
